The joke is on me! I have been planning a trip (with several ladies) to China since last year.

I'm with Doraz, could you reconsider? World-wide health emergency with calls to avoid your destination should support refunds?

How many want this
tinkercreek comments on Jan 27, 2020:
WANT!! I live on a small, modest private street, an HOA group. There is a very small, modest sign posted at the entrance stating private property, but folks don't get it. My polite little lecture on it being illegal to canvas door to door here usually scares them a bit, but this mat would be great!
This is crazy. Obviously a fake profile.

tinkercreek comments on Jan 12, 2020:
Unitarian groups can vary greatly, Some are churches with clergy and choir, some are fellowships with member-crafted programs. All, in my experience, bear the influence of their particular folks, so it can be worth checking out several. Good luck!

tinkercreek comments on Jan 10, 2020:
These were great entertainers, though I somehow didn't see the era's talk shows. A few years ago I dated someone who grew up in Burbank and lived the Hollywood years. His dad, a retired LA cop, was hired as chauffer/bodyguard/butler for Lucille Ball. My friend was able to visit the home and occasional TV sets, with memories of her always being a gracious and genuine person, visited by all the BIG stars of the 40's & 50's. What a childhood, right?!

tinkercreek comments on Jan 9, 2020:
I was an EKG tech through my 20's, sometimes called to do a tracing on infant boys in the 'circ room'. Have you seen the baby sized cookie-cutter restraint trays they are strapped into? I began to dread those calls, thinking it only reasonable that the pain, fear and stress of the procedure was the only cause of their little hearts flipping out. When I had my own son I had researched the options and learned that we are a unique culture that performs this routinely - for profit. Additionally, studies pointed to uncircumcised men experiencing superior sexual health and pleasure, as well as their partners (which I can vouch for!). Cleanliness would only be an issue in someone with overall poor habits. Without hesitation, my son was left intact. As it turned out, my son also developed phimosis at age 12, discovered from a constricted urinary tract that required noticeably frequent bathroom breaks at school. I was disappointed that he required a circumcision, but it was a relatively easy day surgery and recovery. My daughter lives in New Zealand, where midwives routinely deliver babies and circumcision is typically never a consideration. I could not be more happy for my kiwi family and their healthy ways, never even a thought to cut my dear grandson!

tinkercreek comments on Jan 8, 2020:
My work for years has required constant documentation, and I always enjoyed excelling at language skills. I think current young adults have a "not worth the bother" attitude over writing, exaggerated by keyboarding, acronyms and emoticons. It just seems sad that we've pretty much lost the practice of cursive, and now the very structure of our language. Speaking of, is this happening with languages other than English?

Hope is looking forward to a desired outcome despite a lack of information, whereas desperation is a loss of rational thought in the effort to achieve a goal.

tinkercreek comments on Jan 8, 2020:
This is personal for me, as I have a dear friend and colleague, Oregon National Guard, stationed in Qatar. The assignment never made sense, deployed in September to guard/assist in rebuilding an older airbase there. There was no hazard pay attached to the assignment. She's a career soldier, transitioned to this from 8 yrs/3 deployments as a Marine. Joining Guard was intended to avoid conflict deployments, and I think of her constantly, like a daughter to me.
