Our Home Depot stores were selling citronella plants this year, so I grabbed one in addition to my usual mints around the patio. The plant is beautiful, low maintenance, and grows like a weed (glad I have it in a pot), and no buggies!

It is beautiful, but very destructive to your home. Be sure to pull & clean those down, likely some already have snuck into the siding. I enjoy a lovely Virgina Creeper on a free-standing trellis, same gorgeous color in the fall. During growth season some shoots will reaches for my house siding a foot away, but I snip those down before they lock in.

I go to concerts, movies, museums, cultural events and such on my own. With family far away I travel long multi-leg flights on my own. There is a wonderful freedom and peace in experiencing events and making decisions just as you wish, and I strike up conversations easily and meet the nicest folks that way. Somehow, I do struggle with attending a restaurant on my own, which I plan to overcome in my recovery time off in a couple months. Seems like a fine time to do things differently!

I've been a few places, done a few things. Climbed Mt. Hood, snorkeled with fishies, swam with sea lions, top-kayaked over sharks, downhill & XC skied, rode motorbikes, vaca'd in sweet villages, Dragon boat raced, danced & partied, hiked through open & forested expanses, toured some of America and spent time in New Zealand & Fiji, a couple others. SO much more to see and do, and my lists of desired adventures are scattered about. I fully respect that a 60+ yr body would not heal as well or quickly as previously, and make choices accordingly. My next few months are designed around getting a new hip, anxious to change my current reality of being able to walk less than 30 mins at a time, which has been a major reality-bender. Reading and viewing on the adventures of others will have to do for a while, likely gaining new lists!
