I've been an atheist since I was in highschool. I am highly intelligent and analytical. At 11 I was very religious and began to really study the Bible. That is what started me on the path to athiesm as I began to really think about things.
I used to consider myself an intellectual, but came to realize that I abhored elitism and realized that intellectuals often used intelligence as a qualifier for too many things. I still enjoy the company of book readers and thoughtful persons more than others, but it's now more important to me to be accepting. We all have more in common than not. I would rather be kind than smart.
3 kids. One on the autism spectrum. Oldest is 19 and a transgender boy. Youngest is 4 and middle is 6. My house is loud.
I love my job (software engineer in the aerospace sector). My favorite genre is science fiction - classic science fiction novels and smart sci fi movies and shows. Star Trek over Star Wars. Enjoy horror, but can't stomach things with kids. Still enjoy classic lit and philosophy but now I often enjoy lighter things - lighter but not light. Traveled and expierenced a lot when I was younger. Now my kids and funds keep me home and my kids are my adventure. I enjoy a good cold martini (sometimes with the vermouth on the side), but no more than 3, ever. Politically I am progressive but not exclusively so (yes to Bernie no to organic foods).
