Sometimes, time & place. As a construction worker, I really don't spend much of my day interacting with women. As non church goer, I don't have that social outlet. As an old crank, I don't get far with small town conversation. But mostly....it's a mood thing. When I'm occupied, or on a mission, or have an agenda, or even feeling down, it seems women are popping up in numbers, and seemingly happy! When I'm clean, dressed up, feeling smart, looking for conversation// connection all I find is: Chain smokers, Surly Women.....or Dudes.
Am I the only atheist that doesn’t smoke pot?

Thanks for everyone's responses so far. I should say that this person is / was a business partner. ( (Although, at the end of my marriage, my ex wife was carrying on similarly, but not as extreme. ) Although these relationships have ended, just recently, looking back have I gained this new perspective.
Don’t set the bar too high ;)

After writing my previous comments, I now Ponder the Plunder: What is the environmental impact of fleeing Americans to more rural countries? Perhaps the best answer is to simply rent in a city. But the rersults, especially where Americans are concerned will almost certainly be :more, more more. More housing. More shopping. More land for housing. More resources gobbled.....Now Honduras needs more landfills. More plastic in the ocean. More soda pop for the locals. Consume Mass Quantities !!!! Paradise shot to hell. Hopefully we can all think first. IDK if I want to play a part in this

We voted for Hope & Change in 2008....... Hope was gone when Obama's 1st order of business was to pay off his masters with American Homes and Jobs. Change? I've just got a bit of change in my pocket left. I don't worry about left leaning acedamia......it's a left brain/ right brain thing. Some teach. Some do. Who the hell listens or cares?
Why is it that so many atheists are liberal leaning?
twill comments on Mar 14, 2018:
I'm probably 50/50 split. Respect for others tends to be a more liberal trait. Kind of hard to pin down a "conservative", as I don't see them conserving much but an ancient past and inherited money. I honor work. I am consevative with money, mine and others..... At this age I am more suspiscious of these labels. I'm not sure many people are even aware of themselves. For example: Does a retired Church going, older "conservative" even acknowledge that their social security check is coming from the government and NOT God? We are all so intertwined. Yet under attack from each other. It's ugly out there.

Which big name bands or those who went on to become big name bands have you seen in concert?
twill comments on Mar 9, 2018:
When I was living in Mass, a friend asked me if I wanted to go to Vermont and see a band called Phish. I said no, never heard of them, have to work tomorrow. A few months later I was in Charlotte, NC and they came to town so I saw them in a little club ....about 40 / 50 people there including the workers? We got high inside, sat about 30 feet away from them. They played on little trampolines. Then a few months later I was back home in Indiana and Phish was booked at the United Center ( or where the Bulls played was called in 1990). They sure got big fast. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn in his breakout year, in Austin at the Riverfront Festival. He was all the rage (Cold Shot/ Texas Flood) then (Couldn't Stand the Weather) nationally that year. I went on to Kansas, North Dakota and Massachussets in 1985.

He just gave up/ us kids became misbehaved shits....No tight family values. I was picked on by 4 of 5 siblings (5th had it even her worse than me ..... from her Step Dad....my Dad) Admittedly, I used to hit back...when I could or wasn't outnumbered. Physically or verbally. Quite simply, the more I listen to the stories and beliefs of believers, and stories/ myths of the bible and religion, along with growing evidence of many Sun Gods/ ancient religions almost totally influencing the modern ones........the more ridiculous it all sounds . Virgin birth? 2 of each animal in an Ark? Die and go to heaven? ....etc. etc. All based on belief and very little evidence + much contradiction.... When you add it all up UP, it comes out to a MINUS Also growing evidence and knowledge of the Earth and Cosmos tells me it's time for humanity to acknowledge the evidence, and to grow up and move forward So to answer the question it wasn't a single thing that made me throw up my hands....

Maybe that's why we are seeing so many re-sale shops ? We're already doing that, but at a slower pace?

It's a constant war to Just Say No! to more stuff. One of my battles is dragging out stuff no longer wanted, necessary or in the way. I Try to give it away before I throw it out. As much shopping as possible is now done at re-sale shops. Years ago I told my kids...No More presents! We are going to start doing things instead! About a 50/50 success rate rate, but the good 50 part of it is fantastic! When my ex moved out, I eliminated 5 or 6 vacuum cleaners. She spent a lot of her time organizing....like monthly re-organizing the house. It is a sickness. I threw out many many plastic tubs and lids. Car seats from when the kids were babies. She liked to paint. The exterior doors were re-painted at least once a year. Most rooms every other year. So I suggested....."Buy cheap paint since you're gonna re-paint anyway" ( I am mean, I was told). Definitely a sickness. Stay on top of it Dreadly.... Hoarders weren't born that way. And yes, I have too many guitars and amps......i can only play one at a time......... And yes, my pole barn has too much junk. But still my favorite place in the whole world is my home.
