I give up. I guess dating or finding the right person isn't in the cards for me.

Dang! I'm not the "be all, end all" by any means. & it's not just about me, but for an example, I reach out to a few ladies, get a response. Respond & nothing back. & then hear "not in the cards". C'mon! At least respond back & see. A little give & take is needed to find out if anything may be there. Do you ladies not think that we guys are looking just as much?!? Please, don't expect Cyrano or Byron in the first exchange! If we're too awkward, well, ok, maybe back off. But please, give us a chance & talk to us a bit. Let us open up as you do. We are NOT Weinstein. We are trying. Cut us just a bit of slack & you may be surprised.

I have somebody, for example, that is actually rated 99%, believe it or not. & is on this post! I left an open-ended message & invitation after a few exchanges, & then...nothing. Have no idea what I may have done, but it is disheartening. Ladies! Realize that we want a relationship, as much as anything else, as much as you do. Realize that we keep reaching out, a bit at a time, tentatively, just as you do, for we are just as leery of being hurt. You can just write to us without a commitment & at least be honest, but to just drop the whole conversation & leave us hanging & THEN say, "oh, there's nothing out there", well, please, meet us half-way.

Typically, there is a physical attraction that takes place first, right?

@SkeptikSeeker Online? I agree that physical, face to face is needed to cement any possible bond, but often on a site such as this, back & forth comments on posts & a PM conversation sets up the initial attraction.

@phxbillcee i respectfully submit, that if there was not an initial attraction to the photo, there would not be an initial contact.

@SkeptikSeeker Point respectfully granted! But I have had more contacts based on my posts & comments than any swooning over any photos!

Don't give up!

I can relate. Especially living in this town. It's very right wing. Just can't do that! Lol

Oh, don't give up! Go places you like. Do things you enjoy. Join clubs that share your interests, like gym, walking/hiking, biking, canoeing and dancing. It's really nice to have someone to care for and love. I only loved my kids, never a man. But now, I long for a relationship, and hope to find my right person one day and go for walks/hikes in nature holding hands. Wish you the best of luck!

I guess Im an eternal optimist. I won't give up. But getting older so it may not happen for me either. Who knows!

@Peterisin
Thank you kindly

Old is relative. You're a spring chicken and attractive. You have every reason to remain optimistic.

I pretty much feel the same way you do Willson. I'm fairly certain that I'll be alone the rest of my life just as I've been so far. I may not be happy about it but I've accepted it.

No luck. Or it's just me. Don't feel I'm liked very well I guess.
