What song would you like played at your funeral /wake?

Not exactly my idea of what I would choose but groovy none the less.

Of course I want my best friend to give my eulogy, but I'll need to give my sister equal time fro the rebuttal.

Hunter/Garcia song Black Peter originally released on Grateful Dead's Workingman's Dead LP; yet many interesting live versions available for, if any, my memorial...

Well Dang!! Maybe this will fix it?

But if you wanted a serious answer, it would likely be this one;

I actually want a Viking funeral. But if I had to I'd want two if I got to pick. Also WELCOME!

When they carry the coffin.

I'm having my ashes sprinkled under a tree I planted, no funeral and no ceremony.

Shar Pei's ?

@Countrywoman yes they are and I just got a young staffie bitch yesterday too now.

@LeighShelton I have a Life magazine article from the 1960's documenting the man who saved this dog from Mao's purge of all things middle class such as owning dogs. He got 50 shar pei's out of the PRC & the breed took off in the USA avoiding extinction. I was very into odd breeds when Iwas in my teens.

@Countrywoman I had a shar-pei back in the 1980,s when they were first here

My daughter has promised me that she will choreograph and dance a hula to this song at my funeral. It will bring some tears, but it will be necessary as a way to say goodbye to my physical person and welcome me back as just a memory into their hearts. It is special for many reasons. Here is the translation:

Kuʻu Lei ʻAwapuhi - Words & music by Emily Kekahaloa Namauʻu Taylor

ʻAuhea la ʻoe e ke aloha
ʻAwapuhi pala o ka ua noe
A eia no me au
I ka poli o ke aloha

Hui
E kuʻu aloha ē (e ō)
ʻAuhea la ʻoe (e ia no au)
A huli aku au ia ʻoe

Translation:

Where are you, my love
Like the ginger, covered in the misty rain
Here, I am with you
In love’s sweet embrace

Chorus:
I call, my beloved (answer)
Where are you (Here I am)
Return to me

Yes our deaths should be a time of praise and memories shared by survivors and contribute to research preventing future deaths

@Akfishlady The story of the episode adds to it considerably. [en.wikipedia.org]

To be played at my wake before I'm just another log on the fire...

And also from the same album
