Only one motto in life 'Be Kind and Expect Nothing in Return'.
Religion seems to be so tied in with politics, and it started a long, long time ago - witchdoctors. It seems to me it was just invented by an oligarchy to control the population. It is a very effective tool for keeping people supressed and not questioning.
Now I would never want to destroy peoples religious beliefs because they give meaning to people who don't question plus they give a sense of community. I believe atheists and religious people can co-exist and in a previous post I did suggest an atheist 'church' more of a meeting place, maybe a shed, where us atheist can develop a sense of community and interact.
I don't think it has to be them and us. They're just better at interacting and interacting is probably our most basic human need. Good luck to them as long as they tread carefully.

Studies do show a benefit to believers, but it all seems to come from the sense of community, not the religion.
Any time groups of people come together regularly to socialize and interact pleasantly, there's a bonding, social benefit.
