I love Shawshank too! It was filmed in my hometown. A lot of my friends where extras. My sister played the female member of the parole board when Red was granted parole. She also had opportunity to talk with Morgan Freeman between sets. How cool is that?

Sounds like a memorable experience
Shawshank Redemption is amazing.
The narration by Morgan Freeman is a large part of that.
I love this movie.
I'm going to throw the title of "Goodfellas" in as another favorite.

The Dark Crystal. Not for any high-falutin message (I'll reserve that honour for my second-favourite, Contact), but for the sheer artistry. Every second of that film was crafted.. Save for some of the scenery, everything was made from scratch. It was an endeavour that will probably never be matched.
