If freethinkers / atheists / agnostics had a moniker / symbol / flag, then what would it be?

Perhaps it already exists? There are plenty for, say, Christianity (crosses, fish etc.) - but what about us?

I don't see the point of a symbol for the fact that I do not believe in a deity.

I always adopt the moniker of The Flying Spaghetti Monster

I belong to an atheist group called The Black Sheep. The symbol used is the letter "A" in kind of a curved curlicue. So there are symbols .... we just have to make ourselves known.

Personally, I'm not remotely interested in symbols, flags, etc. I have no need of identifiers, or qualifiers, or quantifiers. Y'all can have whatever you need, but count me out.

The peace symbol seems like an overall good symbol to use. Almost everyone likes peace.

I've seen an atomic symbol used to represent atheism. I think it would be a good choice.

But, a symbol for something that you don't do is not necessary. I don't golf, so I don't feel a need to wear a non-golfing symbol. I don't collect stamps so I don't need to advertise that I don't collect stamps.

I like the Dawkins A or the atomic A. The Darwin fish/ Flying Spaghetti Monster are also pretty good. I think the peace symbol would be too broad, though...

Why do we need one? Why do we want to isolate ourselves by labeling ourselves. Iam fine without one.

I kinda like the fish with feet, but I guess that's specific to evolutionists (ME! for one)

Which ball do non-golf-players use?

To ask of something that unites us in our atheism, even a symbol, is a mistake. But leaving this technical issue aside, the "A" seems to be shared by many atheists, either as stylized molecule or just the circled letter.

We don't need one. I prefer not to be a member of a special gang.

so you don't want safety in numbers ?? VERY brave

I don't see how a symbol is going to make anyone any "safer". Numbers, on the other hand, are growing. That, in itself, is more powerful than any symbol.

Here's one I like:

Intentionally left blank?

@godef I'm seeing the jpeg; stylized letter A in an open circle.
