I don't know how to put this. I have heard people say that a debate with a theist is pointless(IE they will never change their mind), and some others say that you should let people believe what they want. I was once a Christian, and I am glad I am no longer a Christian. So both of these reasons seem to be wrong to me. Any thoughts? Just to clarify I no longer debate people unless I feel they are down for such a debate.

Talking to a brick wall is not going to make the wall move. You go around it and move on. Talking to a Trump supporter is the same as talking to an Evangelical, they don’t want to hear you, they are not debating facts, just feelings, so no matter what you present gets met with retaliatory bull shit that has no meaning, just mantra.
