If you were a divine Creator, would you want to be worshiped as the Bible proclaims you should? Wouldn’t an all-powerful benevolent being be slightly insulted if those beneath it thought that it was so insecure to desire worship?

This is what makes all these holy books so patently false, because they were written by man and the whole concept of god was invented by man they attribute human cravings to that god. As you say, he wouldn’t need the adoration and worship of mere mortals. That makes him seem more like a megalomaniac than a benevolent creator. What point did he have in creating this earth and putting us on it in the first place if it is only a testing ground to see who he is going to let into his real permanent domain. did he not just create people and put them straight into heaven in the first place. If they misbehaved he could always create another place for them and it hell.

I would say, if I were the creator of everything, the last thing I would need is worship. I'd be too busy creating more.
