I got up, saw that the civil war had not commenced as of yet, and then decided to watch tv and be lazy. I've been busy all week. free day off. Time for some binging.

Normally this is a big holiday for me, not really feeling it this year.

I'm having a "staycation" -- staying in the house in the a/c and mellowing out. Between the heat and the noise, the 4th of July gets to be too much for me.

No. But, my not doing so is not a political statement. It’s just a matter of circumstance.

Who doesn't like blowing stuff up. Why cause 'murica. Have a safe and fun 4th

2

I get two days off of work.?

Love your balancing rock photo in Big Bend. Such a cool spot.

2

No, waste of time and money. Middle of work week sucks

2

Not doing anything special really. It's the middle of the work week

Not me. My town shot off fireworks last night. It was over in 14 minutes and cost $65,000!! $65,000 for 14 minutes of feel good fluff. And the potholes are still here. People are still hungry, unemployed or underemployed. And they spent $65K to feel good about themselves.

ameriKKKa.

That's outrageous!

1

no...that would make me a bigger asshole.

2

Of course!

A professional army that couldn't beat a poorly run militia of farmers and immigrants. I would keep my mouth shut.

@GipsyOfNewSpain
Exactly Gipsy.
I'm an American. I put that there as a taunt .

@bigpawbullets Got cha!!!!

No Vote... I canceled going dancing tonight or celebrating tomorrow due the state of the union. I will try not to use the pool or the jacuzzi. On a lighter note... 12 more days and I will be back in Las Vegas. So I will be able to ignore washington dc... again.

The 4th is the busiest day on this island. We have one of the best firework displays (which I don't care for) in the state. I will be marching in our parade (for the San Juan Islands National monument - leave-no-trace group). [lopezfireworks.org] The ferries to the island have been booked for weeks and it will be almost like living in the city. This holiday everyone locks their houses and cars. It is a madhouse but fun.

I'll be working. Oh fun. 😀

Yeah, me too. Probably go on my annual rant about how they want the immigrants to do all the crap jobs, but don't want us here. It's tradition 😉

@Akfishlady They used to pay us penalty rates but stopped as of last year. ##**!!! I will probably only work half a day and then head off home. Not so bad I guess. I just count myself lucky that I have a job and one that I actually quite like so it is all good. Happy working 4th! 😀

NO. And especially NO since we're now officially a lie. All the fireworks are doing is scaring dogs & flaring up war veteran's PTSD.
New guy on block celebrating his new residence by setting off things that must surely register on the Richter scale.

2

No. I'm not even putting the flag out.

My next door neighbor has enough flags out for both of us, along with several god bless america hangings. 😕

@PalacinkyPDX Ha, you may and please don't be cordial about it!!! They are actually fairly decent people (considering) but the moment that they try to take me into the fold, will be the deciding moment on just how 'nice' I am.
