Windows almost always open a little, the recent heat here in the UK has meant I've also had to rig a fan in the window to help blow warm air out & cooling my room.

Yes I like to sleep with a window open. I did that exact thing just last night. It was hot and the breeze was gently blowing and I could hear the waves crashing onto the beach. It was magical. I am very fortunate indeed. 😀

@Sheannutt It is one of the things I love about where I live. Sadly though the water is quite often contaminated from the nearby Mexican sewage system so I dare not go into the water most of the time. 😟

I insist that the Windows are open when I go to sleep. Since I rarely argue with myself, it has never been an issue. It's a shame that this small burg has me decorating the walls with easily accessible sharp and blunt objects.

I like when my home windows are open. I also like that my home computer defaults to Linux instead of Windows 🙂

Almost as good as camping!

Not in Texas

I am moving from this state! Psychotic government aside, it smells like fish, shit and mold!

I love Texas. I don't mind the windows closed 8 out of 12 months and I don't find the smell offensive, except for Pasadena of course. As a matter of fact, it was so nice on the fourth we opened all the windows and door for almost the whole day.

Yup. My screen doors are open year around here in Thailand, and in the US, I camped year around in a screen tent out by the horse pasture on our Kentucky farm.

All my windows with screens are open now!
Kitty!

I live 3 blocks from a fire/police department and 4 blocks from the hospital. Having the windows closed helps block the sirens so they don't wake me up.

Going down to 57° here tonight. All windows already open.

I do love sleeping with the windows open, but not in the spring when the trees are having sex. It causes me to wake up with a clogged head.

When trees have sex, we all get £¥©&£¤

Windows open, tin roof, rain and the smell of eucalyptus. Perfect.

Eucalyptus or lemongrass....

@Holysocks mmm, have never lived near lemongrass, but it sounds lovely 🙂

@girlwithsmiles
Lemongrass is as lovely as it sounds, and it grows as much as you let it.

@Holysocks great stuff, will have to acquire one!

@girlwithsmiles
I don't think it flowers, but it gets tall. 🙂

I was waiting for a punchline...

Anyway, yes, I much prefer an open bedroom window at night; problem is, I have an acute noise sensitivity and, even though I always wear earplugs to bed, the slightest sounds will awaken me.

@Sheannutt I definitely get that. Until I moved recently, I wore them during the day because of a constantly barking dog in an enclosed, highly echoic house; i.e., no carpet, or acoustic ceilings. The little fucker's bark was very loud and very, very sharp.

@Sheannutt I've made my peace with noisy kids; I love having children around where I live, and there's a trade off usually, which is often kid noise. And I'm very grateful my complex takes dogs as I have two little guys who are old and quiet. There are some barky dogs ijn the complex, but not really excessively so.

Yes my computer is on all the time lol

Damn, I was going to post this same thing. lol.

Windows... I get it ????

I open them in the winter too

@Sheannutt I have a (not so well known) theory that excessive noise is in large part responsible for much of the rage of modern society.

@Condor5 Agree : traffic, headphones, constant mall music, games, background tv, All that stuff rattling around in the head can't be good along with the constant visual barrage of Tv, phones, games. No wonder er;re crackin up.

@starwatcher-al, seriously, there are very few tranquil places anymore that are readily accessible to the average person, everywhere you go there are more people and with people comes noise. I truly believe it wreaks havoc on the mind, not allowing humans to concentrate and attain any kind of clarity of thought on a consistent, ongoing basis. I'm talking primarily about large urban areas where the din is constant and often at high levels.

I'm nervous about sleeping with Windows open.

Then again, sometimes I fall asleep with my computer on, and I forget to close my Windows.

Sometimes if I'm watching certain videos.... I get very excited 😉 and then afterwards I'm so exhausted I fall asleep without closing the Windows.

Wait... this wasn't a computer question?

@Sheannutt
It's possible that I knew this going in... satire is a lost art 🙂
