I'm single because I'm an awkward introvert that never leaves home except to go to work. It's kinda hard to meet people if you don't interact with them.

Widower,lost wife of 27 years to cancer,a good ,stable marriage, no drama,just peace and tranquility,hoping to find another woman with similar outlook on life.[agnostic.com]

@Jonado I'm 20 years older than you,at 71,many skills,very calm,seldom excitable.Humans should not live alone,I did for 16 years before marrying my wife,low paying jobs,held me back,first job in 1974 was $2.85 an hour,not much dating on that income.

@Jonado I've only been in Texas twice,the first was Air Force basic training in the late 60's,the second time,my late wife and I drove to McAllen to visit and stay with her sister for almost 6 months time,a two day trip in 2014.

I just don't feel acceptable as a person, and I don't feel like anyone should have to put up with all my garbage.
Having said that, I was abused as a child, and I know it has messed me up in ways that can't be healed.
I really enjoy sex and intimacy, but I think some people are so broken that they should not have intimacy with anyone, as it just leads to an overwhelming stress and heartache for all involved.

Lost wife 10 months go to cancer,after 27 years of marriage,taking things slow,afraid to commit as I hear horror stories,so,I'll fall back on my old bachelor survival tactics,I suppose.

I'm single and always wondered why. I don't see me entering into any kind of relationship (as a friend or one that may evolve into something serious) soon. I always thought if it was ment to be, it woukd have happened, whrn I was in my early 20's.

I'm not.

I can't find a woman to trust. I also left a relationship as a survivor of violent physical abuse. Relationships induce a state of terror inside me.

Yes,severe trust issues,if your former lover was raised in an abusive family,that is all she knows,breaking that cycle is difficult,many hours of therapy. It can continue for many generations.
