To all agnostic users,
My time here on agnostic has come to an end. For personal reasons that shall not be mentioned, I no longer desire to be a part of any kind of social media at all. And even though this is not facebook, it unfortunately still counts as social media. I have enjoyed my time here and I have enjoyed our conversations and debates. It has been a favorite occupation of my free time to come here and exchange ideas with all of you. Some of you may not have liked me or my point of view, and that is more than okay. For those many that I have had very positive interactions with, thank you for sharing your ideas and perspectives with me and for showing me such respect and kindness. I enjoyed my time here.
But the time has come to focus my energy on bigger things. Lots of work and study to be done.
I'll be on for the rest of the evening to respond to any comments on this post, say goodbyes, and then I will promptly be deleting my account.

Perhaps you saw how many friends you have here who look forward to hearing about the progress in your life, your search,your career, your house, your dog. Perhaps you just passed out? Perhaps you don't feel so obligated or inspired to post or read or ask? You don't have to engage. But you know all of these things .I do hope you don't leave as like a favorite author, the "new book" is anticipated. It would be disappointing to lose a great & favorite author. We can wait for the "new book" when it is published. Weeks, months, years. =0} Just as I don't engage folks on FB, I friend no one, your absence does not require you dumping all of your friends here. Whilst I may not have always agreed with your political views, you were one of the relatively few members on here that I've come across that explained your stance(s) in deeper detail and shared with this community information/knowledge that was very useful for everyone across the board, and you certainly have my respect for that. Good luck to you in the future, may success come your way in whatever endeavor(s) you choose to get involved with. Perhaps in the future years down the road I will be watching the news on television and see a report on a white hat hacker who goes by the name Silver Dollar Jedi who discovered a way to detect malicious hackers or malware almost as soon as they present themselves, or maybe invented a powerful new type of antivirus software/app? Alot could happen, and the future holds potential for any of those willing to seek it out. Take care.

Hey, not to sound like a cheeseball, but I always think of this song when I say goodbye to people. I also play it at funerals (haha) but since you are merely Leaving and Not Dying... I will post it for you, my friend. Honestly, the best placed movie I ever heard this song in was Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited" one of my favorite movies.

For what it is worth, there are about... 10 people here at a.com that i TRULY considered my closest comrades here... I have ALWAYS counted you as one of those.
For those reasons alone, knowing what a picky bitch I am about whom I consider a "friend" it saddens me to read this. I hate to lose someone I have come to care for, my friend.
Whatever your reasons, I understand, but I felt it was important to share this with you. If a day comes that you wish to return to the world of the internet, I am sending over my personal email again and PLEASE USE IT someday if you change your mind and return to the information highway!

@SilverDollarJedi aah hey man, i get it! I did the same thing when i was in med school. Sure, the net wasnt that big of a deal back in the day when I did as much, but I DID have some nerd groups on Netscape that I was huuuge in to and i had to cut it all out of my life.
Hey am ACTUALLY Reaaally good at keeping my friends focused and goal oriented... soo if you do need encouragement and you HAVE goals and deadlines and you Share those with me... hee hee... I am KNOWN for being an Encouraging reminder of said goals and pushing my friends to achieve them. It is probably because, seriously, I am asian and we are Very goal driven and i Understand the desire to learn and time frames and the such so I am Super good at being supportive when it comes to pushing my friends to bring those things into fruition. I am also really good at advice, but i AM a technotard so all i can advise on are DATES and Pushing you, but surely not anything beyond that because... you'd get better advice from a wall in that regard. LOL
I Totally get it. I often cut myself off from things to birth focus. Dude, when I left Calif back in the summer of 2000, I MADE that decision in 6 days. On a tues I said i was leaving. On a Thurs i bought a plane ticket, on a Friday I called family and friends and said I had my rent paid up for anothe rmonth and anyone who wanted to keep ANYTHING in my home show up and take it... by Sunday 95% of my items had been taken or sold. Monday I FLEW OUT of California with ONE backpack. I didnt take SHIT with me. I have had Three Great Purgins in my times where i packed my life in a backpack and i walked Away from Everything... and allll my friends and family were irritated or pissed or found my decisions to be trivial or plain out STUPID, but hey, it was my life... i had things that were important to me and those things were Not Material Possessions... it was Knowledge and Wisdom I was seeking. Sometimes to find those things, you MUST make sacrafices and you Must move on, pack your life into a TINY ASS BAG and toss the rest to the wind and see where Life Blows You around to... So if anyone things you are nutso... FUCK them! They don't get it. Oh well.
Wisdom wears many faces. Find it wherever you can get it and if that means you Must Walk Away, then do it. It is YOUR life. You are born alone. You WILL Die Alone. You Choose for yourself what is best for you.
I could make a useful pen-pal me thinks...I have experience in this particular avenue you are about to cruise down...

When i was 15 i had my friends drop me off at the greyhound bus station and i said i was leaving to learn to be a better writer and it would start with being homeless on the streets of hollywood. That IS exactly what i did! They ALL laughed driving me to the station and i had a backpack. They next saw me 7 months later. HAHA and i WAS A BETTER WRITER for the experience.
When i graduated with my Masters (and Undergrad because i went back to back from undergrad to grad school at by 21 had my Masters), my asian family rewarded me with $ and in the end, i had near 65K so i paid all my debts off, packed my tent and gear into my car trunk, grabbed my bike and my rack and told my friends, "In One week I will be leaving for 18 months. I will be back then." Again, LAUGHTER and taunting. Dummies. I left again. I was gone nearly 2 years. I traveled the US and at that time, i lived for a duration of time in 39 states. I would just look on a map and find a landmark or something i liked and i would drive to that town and stay there... explore it. I had NO direction. I was just... doing whatever the fuck i wanted. I wandered for maaany mooonths and i learned MORE in those months that i did my ENTIRE EDUCATIONAL CAREER To date.
After UCLA I left in 2000 and came to Michigan. Every 3 months i would leave for 1 month and travel. In the summers, I travel across the country for 2 months. I have seen all the states and stayed in them minus the upper east coast and Alaska. I intend to visit the upper east coast this fall. I want to see the colours change. Alaska for summer of 2019. After that, Im leaving to the University of Bologna for my phD. I want to live in Italy for a few years with the italian rebel anarchists of Emilia Romagna! HAHA

I can't tell you how much I will miss your posts & am truly disheartened at your declaration of departure. Enjoying your comments & insight more than most, I do wish you all success & good things.
