Some new things went live today. New photo upload/rotate/cropping tools. If you report a user, they no longer can view your profile or any of your content (later, we may add a way for you to reverse this). Points for really short answers or comments are lower than longer ones. You should be able to now edit your questions and comments after they go live (up to 6 hours times your level number). Let us know if you see problems/bugs with any of these new features (or other things too). Thanks!

I feel confused when so many people who sign on the site admit believing in wierd things or different gods and they still consider themselves agnostic. I started thinking what it is all about? Perhaps this is or some people cuppose it is just another dating site. When on the site appeared even a poly open couple I am at a loss. Is it the case I don't understand something here? Could you express your opinion on the subject , please. Thank you.

If we didn't allow for "Believers/Religious" in the registration, they would register with a fake profile. This way it's easier to spot/filter.

I have a question, WHY are you calling this a dating site for atheists and agnostics when the account settings include things like "religious beliefs"? Why even lie at all to begin with?

Here's the current breakdown of what members call themselves: 61% Atheist, 54% Freethinker, 48% Humanist, 46% Secularist, 44% Agnostic, 39% Skeptic, 9% Spiritual, 2% Believer, 1.5% Religious .

I think we should be open to 2% "believers and religious" people so long as they participate in respectful discussions and are not here to waste people's time trying to de-deconvert others. Please report members who are doing that.

Also, we will add a checkbox to exclude those members from search. Fair?

My profile photo won't show. Is there a reason for this?

I can see your profile. What happens when you go to your profile? On phone or desktop?
On both. And my profile is fine. I'm talking about my actual PHOTO. I setup a profile pic yet I still see the default image.

This is my escape from facebook. I absolutely love that we can interact with everyone not just who we are interested in dating.
I am glad you have a blocking system down and I kinda feel bad for blocking a few but they were the reason I am fleeing from facebook. Ill stick to the positive side if things!

I guess with a username like "Sunny Smiles", you will look at the positive side of things! Thanks for the feedback

I am really enjoying this site. Thank you for all your doing. I realize how much work goes into it. My only concern is for this site to be a safe place for us to be ourselves without religion. That would be the point. Numerous people are religious and followers of Jesus. I do appreciate their honesty but I was hoping to develop relationships with non-theists. Thank you again for all you're doing. I'm happy to be a part of it.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking about letting members block others based on their beliefs. Just ideas...

The messenger doesn't appear to be working for me. I've responded to someone twice but the message doesn't load and it's still marked as unread.

Can you try now? We fixed some bugs in it today. Send a message then reload the page and see if your messages get reloaded (e.g., they are stored in the database ok). Thanks!
Nope, same problem. Just tried again.

After reporting a user, I get sent to a blank page.

are we screening out people that only came here to troll atheist and agnostics? there is a theist who has created his own evil god, making god of the gaps arguments, because he thinks it explains human suffering. . he/she is not an atheist or agnostic. its theism of a self delusion about the human condition.

We currently don't have such a filter but you can now report them as "troll" and we'll keep track of the reports and automatically ban them from posting on your content.

P.S.
soooo... since this was marketed as a dating site, I think having a profile pic of YOU should be mandatory.

Wait, not you as in the admin I meant you as in the general public.
Hahaha, whew. Thanks. The Admin account is to be behinds the scenes. We are trying to market the site as community first, then dating but realize a large percent of people are here for dating. We'll make it easy to exclude people without photos.
Since I am not interested in the dating aspect of this site (I have been dating someone for the past year), I don't want to post a picture. I AM very interested in other's atheist experiences and what I can learn from other people's experiences. I guard my privacy on Facebook and all but one website with a picture rather than a photo, I don't want to feel compelled to post a photo here. It's not that I'm worried about being outed as an atheist, it's just a general privacy issue. The one website where my photo is posted is my local group's atheist website because I am a very active board member and it felt it was important to appear as an unafraid, unabashed atheist.
I found this site searching for an agnostic dating site, so it seems it's already being marketed as such.
So the concern is that if I put up a pic of my dog that I might claim it's me or that someone might want to date my dog? What about icons, abstracts? I think the choice should be left up to the individual
totally agree. red.

I’ll throw my two cents in. It’s your website, and it is free so can’t really argue that, but what the hell is up with this point system?? It’s like fanstory all over again. But like I said, it’s your site, just think point system is silliness.

The website is a work-in-progress. Really appreciate your feedback. I think as we roll out the dating features, we'll de-emphasize the points. The goal with points is to avoid having to charge members to use the dating site. Most dating sites charge to help filter out scammers.
Appreciate it. I think I reported one already. Her profile just didn't seem... right....

Yeah, that will require first to create settings to let members choose what things they want to be notified of so they don't get overloaded. On the list
Thank you Admin

Ah, nooo. Please don't do that. I like this just the way it is. Except the cropping tool still doesn't work, so yeah fix that if possible but don't turn this into facebook for atheists.
Why,Paul ?
I don't know who "we" is, but I definitely don't want yet another service to try to mimic Facebook's look.
