The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is not giving them that gun in the first place. The paranoid gun humpers would assume that I mean ban all guns. But I don't. We have common sense gun laws in Canada and they work. If I wanted to go out and buy a gun I'd have to undergo thorough background checks that includes talking to my spouse, my ex, my boss, my parents...anyone who would know me closely enough to decide if I'm a risk. Then I'd have to pass a gun safety course and get a license. One argument that I'm sick of is when people say cars kill far more people then guns, why don't we ban all cars? Well if you want to use that comparison then look at all the changes that have been made to road safety in the past 50 years.
