What a great idea!

Great idea.

What a great idea - and so simple! Thank you for this. I'm gonna do it & tell all my friends. So.etimes the simplest things are so overlooked - or not even seen. Let's all do this.

I'll admit women are probably in a worst situation then men when it comes to homelessness. This is a great idea. When it comes to food and snacks, high protein is probably the best option.

My town has exactly one lady homeless person of which I am aware...everyone knows her by name and an artist even did a really great painting of her about a decade ago.

But, anyhow, she also has about 30 family members in this town and a house she could go to if she wanted. She chooses not to do so...or take her medicine. Her family watches out for her but so do many members of the community. She always has fresh water bottles.

When I was working in Chicago as a corporate chef, I used to sneak a lot of food from the test kitchen out to the street for the local homeless people. I was always packing "old" food neatly for "placing in the dumpsters". Word got out and the dumpster would be swarmed about 20 minutes after I closed and left for the night. They took care not to come there during work hours so as not to get me in trouble. I have to say that I appreciated that!

I carry stuff in my car neatly tucked into baggies that I can pass out my front window. Each bag has a $5, disposable cleansing wipes, a mylar space blanket, and tube sox. It would be easy to add a snack bar to that as well. The bags are all in reach of the driver's seat. I also have a stash of $5 in case they look like the don't need the other supplies or too much of a rush to grab it.

Stick a $5 in there too, or bigger, maybe some plain sox and a comb. The purse and sanitary supplies is a good idea. I am going to go see if I have any old purses.
