How many of you still do this?

Hi there

0

I dry my clothes in the dryer in my apartment. The damn thing doesn’t work and it would probably be faster to dry them outside. No plans to change or anything just casting my vote.

I dry a lot of my clothes this way!

Never stopped.

I have the yard for it....I just need to add it to the "To Do" list. 🙂

If I’m not in a hurry- It even works in the winter it helps to shake the frost off every day or so!

1

I do that!

At my parents many many many moons ago....... now we depend on electricity and the dryer machine.

@Sheannutt Kind of the same, my subdivision won't allowed it either

@Sheannutt well to be fair, I don't want to see theirs either ?????

I've heard of making a box similar to a solar hot water panel only bigger. Glass top with a black corrugated iron sheet inside. You then use a dryer with no heating element active. You get the convenience of a dryer but the heat from the sun.

Amazing! I love technology! Haha!

My mom ALWAYS dried the sheets on the line, and NOTHING smelled better than fresh line-dried sheets!! Miss that soooo much!! ?

So sorry! ?

I do, don't have a dryer and I don't want one. They use up way too much electricity.

You can't erect a clothes line in my neighborhood.

Why not?

It's a gated community with a HOA [Home Owners Association] @Jolanta The HOA enforces rules for the community.

@nicknotes Ok, so you are a home owner then? Don't you get to vote?

Sure ...there are 2000 homes in my development. People don't like clothes lines. @Jolanta

@nicknotes I can understand that but there are the others who do not mind them at all and who do care about the environment too. You can never satisfy everybody.

Only when the temp is above freezing. Sometimes I deliberately hang the pet blankets in the rain to deodorize them.

Just yesterday I used our clothesline and hammock to sun-bake bedding.

Does hanging in the bathroom count ? I like saving $ and energy and wear and tear on clothes.

@Sheannutt use a tension rod that goes the length of the show/tub, plus the shower curtain rod gives you two. I'm single and have a condo, so no one knows anything. 🙂

Spring, summer and fall, I dry panties and bras on my deck. Hopefully, boys can't see them. Also dresses and skirts that I don't want to shrink in the dryer.

When hiking gear gets wet, it dries in the sun on my deck.

Don't worry about the boys seeing your smalls it may give them a thrill, unless of course they are unsightly and you are ashamed, he, he.

@Jolanta
Thank you. My bras and panties are small and black.

Black lingerie looks good against my porcelain skin.

@LiterateHiker don't worry about the little boys....

Sheets dried on the line smell and feel the best .

2

I have tried it. It turns out my city smells nasty and I never noticed until the smell was dried into my clothing.

No, but I certainly remember my mother drying clothes that way.

@Sheannutt it's certainly a better method than tossing them some 180 degree drying machine, imho.
