Milestone birthday today. Yay me! One of my friends suggested making a list of fifty small adventures ( not bucket list blowouts) to do in the coming year. One thing I would like to do is visit Linville Falls in Western NC, for me a day trip. What's one day trip from your home you keep planning to make but never do?

Mine was last Thursday. I spent a boring day with nothing really to do.

There's a kayak trip I'd like to take, it'd be a day or two, but I really don't have anyone to make the trip with me. That would make it a long walk back to my car.

I live in northern Ireland and always wanted to do that kissing the blarney stone bit down South or even just going to look at it -

I used to live in a cottage above the rope bridge at Ballintoy looking out to Rathlin, about 7 miles from the Giants Causeway which I walked every day for years (when I was younger and fitter) My hips would be up for it these days .

There are a bunch of museums I haven't yet explored in Omaha. I keep thinking "one of these days."

Happy birthday ? I hope you have a good day on the trip. I could do a day trip every day and not run out of places so I'd better make a start!

hell, ive lived in hampton roads (seven cities!) since 82. have never yet managed to visit colonial williamsburg, yorktown battlefield or jamestown settlement. im so lame....

I lived in Hampton from 1988 to 1992. I did get to Colonial Williamsburg a few times, loved it. My ex was military, we were at Ft. Monroe.

@Compassion8doubt I wish I had a good excuse. I do ride by them on occasion, but never have stopped.

I've lived in this area for less than 5 years and am always finding out about amazing spots. Once I find out about one, it's usually a fairly short wait before I'm off to check it out. There's no benefit to waiting!

If you do make that happen, drive to Wisemans View and experience the view of the canyon and the falls.
