Question for ex Catholics. Part of my elementary years were spent in Pueblo, Colorado. I went to public school and rarely to a Baptist church. Most of my friends went to Saint Leanders school and church, it was a den of evil, filled with corporal punishment, threats of eternal torment and most heinous of all, Saturday religious classes when cartoons were on. They chafed under this yoke of oppression and rebelled in various ways. Notably, they had me stand guard while they magically transformed the holy water fountain into a urinal. Kind of gross, but was it a sin?

Sin is a myth.

When I was in college, I worked in high school sports camps. The catholic schools were always the worst behaved. Always. Someone pointed out that since they could go to confession, and be absolved of their "sins", this was viewed as a get out of jail free card.

I've known a number of people that believed like this, that as long as you confessed/accepted Jesus/etc on your deathbed, all transgressions would be forgiven (no matter how bad), and you'd get into heaven,

And yet they DARE take the moral high ground on us?

I don't believe in the concept of sin.

"Sin" is made-up bullshit.
It was just a lot of stuff that they could punish you for.
I was raised catholic, too. I knew it was all bullshit, from a VERY early age.
