Show of hands. Who would rather go to the mountains than the beach? Anyone else?

Beach it's why I live there

Someplace with a waterfall, please!

As nice as the beach is, give me some mountain air, the scent of pine and juniper, the rustle of the leaves in the aspens, and the sound of a river or creek running nearby. Nothing else in nature gives me the peace I get up there away from the noise.

Sand and sunburn? No thanks!

Us visionaries prefer the loftiest peaks, upon which to meditate, and postulate upon Worldly affairs, past, present, and future! Also, I just plain love the view!

I live right above the beach, but I love looking and driving toward the mountains, with the hiking and fresh (unsalty) air. Living on a small island, either is only a few minutes away where every I am! I have the best of both worlds in that respect.

I live in the mountains.

The mountains are very beautiful but I enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, seagulls flying in the air and the taste of salt on my lips. There is not where else so peaceful than a deserted beach with only you, the sand, sun and water. Very relaxing.

Mountains.

No brainer ... Mountains! Mountains! Mountains!

We have both in a very short distance... I could conceivably do both in the same day.

Sand, mozzies, greasy suntan oil, greasier tourists, blazing unremitting sun. Or cool, scenic , open uplands? Duh??

The beach is only two minutes walk away so I'd have to pick the mountains as that would be an adventure to get to 🙂

Well, I showed my hand, but I didn't see it counted in the poll!

A mountain lake is my pick!

What she said.

The beach is wonderful. Then again. I'm biased

I live in the mountains so beach would be a welcome change of scenery. And, I love the sound of the ocean. The waves. The gulls. Miss it

I voted beach because I haven’t been in maybe 10 years or more.

Mountains. I live in Southwest Florida, tired of seeing beaches and my dates wanting to walk on them with someone. LOL

Both. I would also include polar regions and deserts and say, all four.

I hate sand. So much more fun to take the dogs on hikes

I burn to a crisp in the sun, so the mountains are always friendlier to me...with sunscreen.

Grew up in the cold, ended up in FL and am pretty damned happy about it still - mountains are lovely but for me it's beach all the way. And - finally found a quiet beach without a bunch of nasty tourists, t-shirt shops, and bars (not that I am opposed to bars, but they bring noisy crowds). Playalinda Beach, on the federal land at Canaveral National Seashore. BONUS - at the far end of this beach is a nude beach. 😀

Mountains on the beach. Best of both.
