She needs to find a man who praises her.

Robert Heinlein
"""Whenever women have insisted on absolute equality with men, they have invariably wound up on the dirty end of the stick. What they are and what they can do makes them superior to men, and their proper tactic is to demand special privileges, all the traffic will bear. They should never settle merely for equality. For women, “equality” is a disaster.
""" Robert Heinlein

"""An... ingredient for a happy marriage: another-- See to it that she has her own desk--then keep your hands off it! """

Oscar: sad we lost him so quickly. That he had to suffer.

His last words are my favorite. “Either these drapes go, or I do.”

Just remember that you are a unique individual, just like every one else.

What is a perfectly normal human being?

To oscar's point!

An interesting quote and discussion... I’m with @marionville when she says “a man should think his love to be extraordinary, not merely ordinary”

3

This quote alludes to him believing a man should find the object of his love an extraordinary creature and not just a normal (ordinary) human being. He is saying to women, don’t settle for less than adoration.

There is what the quote says he said, then I wonder what is it that he meant to say and last but not least, the part where we think we know what he said.... Language can be complicated at times

@MissKathleen @Morganfreeman I will be willing to bet you both a cup of coffee on the fact that your interpretation (both of you) and mine won't match and we will have three different stories

@Morganfreeman maybe I didn't explain myself. I am talking about your interpretation, MissKathleen interpretation and my interpretation of the quote, not the quote itself. Each cannot be the same to any of the other two.

@Morganfreeman no deficiencies at all. I speak giberish and clearly you don't. Not my problem. Too bad you felt like taking this too seriously. Wrap it up, turn the page, move on, done....feel free to reply, say your peace and have the glorious moment to say the last words. I won't replay.

What is a normal human being? All things are merely chapters in reductionism because it is difficult to Imagine the Whole. No mater if it is Humanity, Race, Religion, our Universe because it is greater than anyone can comprehend. This is just one Universe among many that we know of now by what else there is you can only imagine......The cool this is that together we are greater than the Sum of all the parts.

I'm thinking Oscar Wilde is not the perfect source for romantic advice.

What he said!

You can only treat someone like a Queen because that is how you see her. , What Oscar is saying here is a red flag, that he is just not into you, time to move on ,find your knight in shining armor

He wasn't into split tails at all.

@MissKathleen I guess normal is what you are used to haha, some abused people think that is normal but I like to think that normal just means not thinking like a criminal. I am speaking here as a person who is usually considered to be not normal haha I like being different, which is not bad when you consider that Bill Gates or Steve Jobs or Donald Trump ,Elvis ,the Beatles are all considered to be abnormal hehe!

Okay. oscar wilde was inprisoned from 1895 to 1897 for Gross Indecency with Men. I don't think he knew much about what a Woman should want. I will say his behavior made him Unfit and Unqualified if anything else for lack of experience or true motivation. A Poet he was.

He deserves as OSCAR for being a bit Wilde? LOL!

@Stacey48 It is Not what you Know.... it is what you Do with what you Know. We know what he did... with men. No point to argue Known Facts.

@Stacey48 I do am Sensitive to gay men trying to teach Real Men our Business when they Failed at the task themselves... that's all.

I don’t believe Oscar Wilde’s sexual orientation has any bearing on this quote., nor does it disqualify him from making it. He is alluding to the fact that a man should think the object of his love to be extraordinary and not just an ordinary human being.

@LouElmo I said it is what I believe it to mean. If others choose to interpret it differently fine. I studied Oscar Wilde and have quite a wide knowledge of his writings, and my conclusion, knowing his views, is the interpretation I have put on it.

@Stacey48 That is why it was deleted, maybe it was too harsh.... here is the bottom line. Women think a gay man know what they want. Let the gay give them what they want. My statement is simple. Never seen a homo make a woman happy. I had seen a Real Man made a Woman Happy. No reason to argue.... if you think a gay man is the "key" to your happiness.... More power to you, you know what you want and hopefully you will find your joy.

@Stacey48 He knew so much more that he preferred Men.

@Stacey48 Simply stated undeniable Fact.

@Allie5525 I admit it may had been a Tough Time for a Gentleman's Wife in Puritan England. About making him a Martyr.... his own doing but the Empire needed to be defended at all costs, regardless the era. Christianism always included Bigotry against the Wicked.
