Has anyone had a job where you have not gotten along with coworkers? As a female and working with all females, and the new one in a close group, I am having a lot of difficulties. Preconceptions, misunderstandings, gossiping and outright sabotage. I need advice, please!!

It's a tough situation, especially if you're going to stay in the job. A similar situation got me in trouble. It just occurred to me that you might want to go to the boss to ask for some feedback on your work product to see if you can do anything to improve and at the same time ask and ask them what they think the best way to assimilate into the group would be but if they ask you if there's a problem do not say that there is.. My other suggestion would be to kill them with kindness. Bring in Donuts, Bagels whatever the group seems to like

Ugh, nothing worse than working with a bunch of women. Is all of that being heaped onto you? If not, I would just try to stay out of the fray and do your work, like you said. No need to fall into cliques. Where I used to work, there was one (a clique), but thankfully, the offending members have since left, and the work place became a more bearable, happy place. Hope that happens to you.

Ack! Not fun. Too many variables to explore.

Although I have not (yet) encountered that (exact) environment, I have witnessed or know others who experienced similar events.

A few months ago one woman where I worked was sued by another woman for something like not being polite. (seriously! "She didn't hold the door open for me and was rude." So the complaining woman had a restraining order (must remain 1000 feet from the other person) imposed and the second woman who had to not show up for two weeks while awaiting trial. The judge noted "There is absolutely nothing here" and lifted the restraining order.

I wish you luck.

Yup. But i'm not there to make friends, i'm there to do a job. I am polite, civil, & professional. I speak, even if i'm not spoken to. I do my dance, collect my check & go home. The quality of my work & my professionalism speak for themselves.

Well said
