Most people in his field think he's wrong. Which is a shame it's such a fascinating idea it ought to be true.

This book was very helpful to me at a time when I could no longer believe in a traditional, literal god, but could see that the phenomenon of religion had its source in something more persistent than just a bad idea.
Pivotal. A must-read!
