I would love to have a woman president, but a decent woman would be my choice. There are a few... Hillary is not one of them. There are many reasons she lost... she is not personable, has a horrid reputation, stayed with a cheater for power and money instead of teaching her daughter what a strong woman would do... lots... I haven't the time to type it all...

I remember when her husband was caught with that little girl and I was so upset for the exact same reason you just mentioned. I would have thrown his ass out the same day. However, when it came time to vote, I looked at the lesser of the two evils and voted for her. I truly thought she would win and I truly believed we as a gender could and would come together and wipe out male dominance in four short years. I never realized how someone my age could still be so naive.

I agree...she should have dumped her cheating husband. I voted for her reluctantly. Would have been very happy to vote for Sanders or Warren.

@dahermit oh yes... I would have voted for Bernie and up until this last couple of years I had not paid much attention to Warren, but I've come to respect her a great deal. She would have my vote too.

Y'all know that you can write in a candidate, right? You could still have voted for Bernie. Hell, you could have voted for literally any natural born american land owner 35 years or older with no felony convictions. You don't have to pick the lesser of two evils, that's how we ended up with Trump.

@jayneonacobb I voted for a good woman. I voted for Jill Stein 🙂

@Ad4hubby
I'm glad you also voted for an alternative candidate. I voted libertarian this time because I wanted to get equal funding for another party and they were projected to reach their goal. They did. More parties means more distribution of power, and more accurate representation.
I know she's green party, and what that means, but I'd have to look into her more to form an opinion about her politics.

Interesting how people criticize Hillary for staying with a cheater for power and money, yet don't say the same thing about Melania--did anyone think that was a love match?

@astardrifter melania is a russian prostitute 🙂 She is all about money too... after all she wanted the kid for financial security as she knew who she was marrying.

@Ad4hubby I agree. I just get tired of the hypocrisy and double standard.

@astardrifter Oh no... I agree with you... they are both shit... Melania seems more like a deer caught in the hooker's life headlights tho while Hillary is busy driving the car running over everything in her way. Different dreadfuls... but both dreadful.

Melania did what many women have to do, Hillary went far beyond it for her own kicks

Without Hillary I'm not sure the US would have gotten the Senate votes to bomb and invade Iraq. Bombing Libya was Hillary's war and she got a lot of points for getting it done and gained a huge amount of good experience for doing it.

She got a kick out of the way M Gaddafi was killed on the live link from the battle, and that really turned a lot of people right off her, most likely cost her the election.

@McIntyre Libyans are suffering terribly for that loss of Gaddafi... western powers should respect other nations' choices of leaders.

Yes, and even more than just the Libyans are suffering, but you try to explain that to a Hillary supporter

@McIntyre try to tell that to any american who supports the upheaval of brown people nations. This is not a hillary issue... this is an american issue of invasions for the purpose of theft and control

George Carlin was right to point out our readiness to impose our will on brown people nations but in addition to willingness there also has to be one or more motives. I really don't want to discuss those.

Relevant to Hillary the event showed her sadistic side and really turned off a lot of people.

A flawed electoral system that allowed a minority of ignorant voters to elect an unfit, unintelligent, boorish cretin? A flawed party system that allowed elites to steamroll a grassroots campaign that could have been transformative?

11

I've heard enough. I see the issue now, as well past, and over.

Time to direct our energies to the present, and into getting out of our present mess !

The election was stolen by trump and the Russians. Period. Piece of shit trimpty dumpty.

Yep...amazing how many sheep out there STILL think it was a clean vote.

fixed vote-by trump campaign and russians-mueller will reveal all and trump will be fucked.

He didn't have to fix the election...Hillary did it for him. She is one of the most disliked politician in USA

1-Voter Suppression. In one State two hundre thousand registered Democrats were removed from the voter roll and could not vote. Supreme court has a case now like that to render a decision on.
2- Voter ID laws in states that are controlled by Republican governors and State legislators.
3- He conned a lot of people into thinking that he cares about the middle class and they voted for him.
4- Russian and the Trump campaign collaborated and released false information about his opponent in battleground states.

You know why conspiracy theories seem true? Because thats exactly what "they" want you to think.

I can't even think about it. I still am disheartened that I live in a country that would support such ignorance and hatred.

I wonder why people cannot let go of Hillary. She is gone. Out of the picture. Meanwhile, we have a ranting, raging, rutting, heartless, self-gratifying,evil, demonic sewer hog sitting in the oval office doing absolutely nothing but create more chaos and drama to prove that the SEWER HOG has the power to stop all progress in our world. She can not help the USA now. All the continual banter about Hillary serves nothing but wastes time, causes division, and nothing gets fixed. I will give you one of my mystical, esoteric answers, it was NOT HER TIME.

Its called the electoral collage dumb ass

People who do not learn when it is time to let go of the past and run happily into a new and exciting future, never get that chance. I love history. I study history and I visit historic sites, but I wouldn't forget her, her contributions to America, but I would not ever let me stand still and mourn in one place than not go sailing to happily embrace a new and better future. I am not on let's make America great again. I mean, like we are still great. I am embracing a future that will make America the Greatest. We are on the verged of an advanced technological revolution. The country that creates and produces the products to control and stop climate change will be #1. The country that can see into the future and finds the cheap energy sources that won't destroy the planet, will be the #1 country. Where's S-hole? In the past. Fossil fuels are killing the water and atmosphere. Not only do I want America leading the other countries, I want to save that planet for all children and grandchildren. Weed can be legalized. It is less harmful than alcohol except for those who smoke it thru their lungs. If we make the best grade of weed, the best products like brownies, medicine. Weed is great for chronic pain and anxiety. We are sitting on a gold mine. We could take it from the mob by legalizing, empty prisons for a non Violent weed violations, and we would reap billions. I am ready to make America the Greatest and give out future generations a place to live, not to die soon. The are so many reforms we could do that would be good for everyone and eliminate the excess abuse of money to the rich.

@SerenityDarling It was Bernie's time, not Hillary's.

IMO she was a poor candidate because she thought she was entitled. There was Russian interference in the election with FB posts - perhaps even electronic vote tampering I've read. There has also been a long term attack on Democracy by corporate interests - the establishment of the Tea Party, aka the Freedom Caucus, by Koch Inc and GE who have systematically gerrymandered election districts to favor Republicans at the State level for years. There was also the Democratic party working against Bernie Sanders that turned people off or even sent them over to Trump. What else?

I didn't vote for either of them, I did vote though. I think she lost because enough people didn't want her to win that they protest voted for Trump. Seems to be the consensus from most Trump voters I know, and that's most everyone around me.

Jayneonacob -That’s correct

While I partially agree there was no choice here. One had to vote for Clinton.

Trump is a walking disaster and then some. Our country made a grave mistake in November 2016. I am still a bit shocked. We may not recover as a country and I predict one of the two major parties will fail before 2024.

The people picked 2016 to rebel against the system. But the very saddest part is that Trump voters thought they were rebelling to shake things up. The voted to keep the very people who have been oppressing them in power. The politics is astounding actually. People are so easily manipulated be it the Russians, the moneyed interests, the oil companies. People consistently vote for those who most oppress them. I would consider it beyond belief if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

Your on the Russian thing..wrong Look what he has done with are economy.stocks.
and are you one who was leaving US ?

@Drtoothfairy Yeah, I'll just say - good luck with those stocks! You'll need it.

A lot of reasons, from this side of the pond it seemed that Trump was saying "I will make America great again" and she was saying "It`s my turn". There also seems to be a backlash against "boy band" politicians. We are getting it in France with Le Penn. In the UK with Corbyn and brexit. People a sick of candidates that are so scared of saying the wrong thing, they say nothing at all.
The Democrats picked one of the most hated politicians they could pick. If they had gone with Sanders, he could have stayed at home with his grandchildren and still have won. People hate the word "should". You should stop smoking, you should exercise more. you should watch what you eat, you should go to church on Sunday etc. It pisses folks off and Hillary was a "you should vote for me" candidate Trump was not.

I agree with you about "democrats picking up one of the worst politicians"....I don't about Sanders; his age and commie ideas were a "no-no".
Many of those who voted for DT did so because -as you said- he didn't go the "should way".

@DUCHESSA Sanders could have had the same kind of wave that Corbyn is getting in the UK. Many young voters who have been disillusioned by politics have been brought into the mainstream by radical socialism. The labor party has more members now than ever. I know this, Trump would have not prefered to fight him last year..

@273kelvin I doubt people -young and old- would have voted for a guy with a leg inside his grave. BTW, like radical socialists are any less bulls...ers than the other politicians.

@DUCHESSA Thing is its so out its in

Nothing to work out. It was the electoral college decision to make. Right or wrong, good or bad. (IMHO)

He won the states with more Electoral College delegates.

The Electoral College was established to empower slave states before the Civil War. What justification does it have now, other than to maintain the status quo of the wealthy over the objection of the majority of people?

It is what it is my friend.

3

I wanted Vermin Supreme...... we'd all have free ponies and a plan to rid the world if gingivitis.... seriously though I knew she wouldn't get it when she was debating and telling people yo go to her website for the facts. I was yelling at the tv for her to stand up and hit him with the facts and her platform and all she did was say "go to my website people....blah blah blah"

3

All the formerly stated reasons; and backlash, bigtime.

2

Damn this got ugly quick...

I saw that coming after I read the post

Lol right@Rudy1962

2

She got less votes

That's simply false.

Hillary had 65.9 million votes
Stump had 63.0 million votes. He lost the popular vote by a wide margin.

THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS VOTED FOR SOMEONE ELSE BESIDES THE ORANGE FOOL KING

[en.wikipedia.org]

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

corruption

do you actually see behind the scenes? I'm just guessing but there's many a slip between cup and lip

2

She didn't offer anything to her base. Her platform was "I'm not him, so your vote belongs to me."

I agree with the 2 of you. The electoral college is an ancient orange dinosaur. The election I watched that night was illegal and really a bloodless revolution!

Why was illegal?

Because they changed the geographical boundaries they set up to do the electoral college. In other words if 1 area in a state was only part Republican, the could move the boundaries and make that area look a little different and all Republican. Have you been here 2016 and 2017? You know this whole Russian Investigation is over Trump getting Putin to change the software to make the voting results different. That is why they are interviewing and firing people. The electoral college maybe can be reformed and fixed to work, but not as it was. We had something thing like 13 original states sign the constitution. America has outgrown the electoral college as it is.

2

Seems to me Trump triumphed because of the smear job he did on Hillary. So many Democrats were disgusted by this and by the race in general that record numbers stayed home and did not vote. Also Hillary never really had much of a campaign. She never made a convincing case to vote for her, she just attacked Trump. That cost Hillary the election.

1

It hasn't been worked out and focusing on it is sustaining the division that will reelect Trump. It is way past the time to be supporting a new anti Trump candidate. Yes the electoral college is unfair but we're not getting it changed by 2020. We should be spending every penny and every muscle in our bodies to find and work with a winning candidate to get rid of the rude narcissistic idiot others put in there.

1

The election was a nightmare, we had no good candidate, it was a choice of dumb (Hillary) and dumber (Trump). I was going to vote, until I found out Sanders was not a write in. I knew that by voting for Sanders many people feel it’s a wasted vote, but none of our votes count for much. The USA is not a direct democracy, that means there are many factors aside from the people, that decide the winner. Systems not perfect.

Its real simple - Trump was by far the best candidate

0

There's the Russian trolls, gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc, but the reason Hillary lost is the electoral college. Hillary got three million more votes, and a democracy is supposed to reflect the will of the majority. But the founding fathers didn't actually trust "we, the people" to choose our own president. That chore was left to people who already possessed political power.

0

Sometimes just being the least horrible apparently isn't always enough.

0

People would rather believe a comfortable lie than a hard truth.

0

I think if the electoral system were different then would not the politicians have run a different campaign. If your game is chess you play chess not checkers, yes? If it were only a matter of numbers of votes and the system disregarded everything else, then the election campaign would be a whole different board game.

0

How do you know it was Hillary's time? How do you get your information? Are you a GOD or a psychic. All things have a time and a purpose under the heavens.
