We finished the Natchez Trace this afternoon, a true American treasure. New Orleans for dinner tonight. How can people stand to live in 94 degree heat all day, every day. I am completely exhausted.
Walking it, or driving it, since one can do both? Or at least someone can walk part of it.
I cycled part of the Natchez Trace Parkway, and I agree that it’s truly beautiful.
I’m in that same miserable hot and humid climate. Thankfully it’s about over for this summer. At least the nights are cool. We make up for lost time in the winter, fall, and spring.
It was only about 90° in Omaha yesterday but the humidity was high. I had my 20 month old granddaughter for several hours. We went outside for a bit. She was loving it, running and finding stuff to get into. Grammy OTOH was melting. We didn't stay out long, and after we came back in she was not up very much longer. I am ready for fall temps. I lived in Louisiana about 35 years ago, was not sad to see it in my rearview mirror.
Welcome to the life of being a southerner hun.
It's a beautiful drive, did it in our motor home a few years back, interesting history too. It was in the 90's with 90% humidity here in Canada today but it's not like that all the time.
I too HATE heat, and humidity even more! What is truly awful is going into some ice-cold A/C area, then coming out into heat again, as one does while sight-seeing, shopping, etc. Makes me actually nauseous, and I have aborted plans because of it!
