It's a rainy day here in western Massachusetts. My favorite thing to eat on a rainy day is pea soup. What's yours?

Split Pea and Ham is my favorite soup for cold weather. 😀

Something spicy, like gumbo or chili (with stew meat, not hamburger)

Grilled cheese and tomato soup
Almost anything in the crock pot- chili, soup, stew...
Hot cocoa
Warm brownies mmmmm

Warm brownies for the win! I am so ready for fall just so it's not so uncomfortable to run the oven!

@JenBeberstein Pour me a good cup of coffee with those warm brownies.

I make a soup called kitchari with lentil beans. It tastes a lot like split fee. Perfect for a rainy day!

2

Popcorn with real butter and an old-favorite movie!

2

Chocolate! 🙂 Actually that's my go to everyday whatever the weather 🙂

2

Thick gooey grilled cheese (cooked on the griddle) and cream of tomato soup.

That looks super good. I'm actually not entirely sure. I guess mine's probably pan-fried salmon served on a bed of broccoli and riced cauliflower. Sounds pretentious, but is actually very easy to make and delicious.

That or mac and cheese. ?

Beefstew with cornbread is my favorite for rainy days.

I usually make biscuits with stew, corn bread sounds like it would be a good pairing!

Man, does that ever look good! Pea Soup is my fave as well. A warm cup on a rainy day while curled up with a cat and a book sounds fabulous about now...

Looks good, wish I could taste it. My favourite comfort food is always pasta. I like to ring the changes, but Tagliatelle with homemade meatballs in spicy tomato sauce always makes the day seem brighter......accompanied by a nice Barolo!

Depends on the season. If its summer, I'm partial to fresh raw veg, cornbread & beans/legumes. If its spring, I live spring veg (asparagus, poke sallet, dandelion greens), spoonbread (think savory cornmeal souffle) & cheese. Fall & winter is when I slip into soups, stews & chowders menu. The kids love the "baked potato soup bar" where they get to dress their soup with all the fixins.

I have to agree sir. Reminds me of my home growing up.

That is a loaded question for sure. Most anyone reading my posts and comments could easily guess what my answer would be.

yeah, except she's not here now.

@starwatcher-al There is no particular "she", but plenty of acceptable "they" as long as it is mutually agreeable. Share and share alike.

Do you think it has something to do with the color?

I don't think that the weather has anything to do with my appetite.

Meat eggs butter. That's what I eat every day rain or shine or snow. I am a carnivore.

Turkey, provolone, tomato, on toast with mayo. Kosher dill pickle spear, Campbell's chicken noodle soup. And pinot grigio. Yeah. ?
