As long as this level of assault continues to happen it emboldens boys to believe they have a right because, "everybody's doing it" I wonder where this sickness starts or is it just that so many boys are victms themselves so they feel it's ok to do it to others? I don't get it. When I worked at a printing company it was tradition that a new employ would be subjected to having his pants pulled down and blue ink put on his testicles, they called it the blue balls joke. It would begin with "do you want your palm red" they would grab the new guys hand and spread red ink on it. then when the new guy went in the locker room to change clothes to go home the next assault happened. Some guys didn't come back but many did. These were men in the workforce, and the manager laughed it off as a simple hazing and said it unified the group.

How dare you group all the boys as the same. This kid, and 9 other boys, were assaulted by these 3 a-holes. Another boy stepped up and even stopped the attack it was reported. There are sick evil twisted people in the world, and yes, some of them are male. Please stop attacking all males, esp. insinuating that these poor victims are also part of the problem, just b/c they were born with a penis.

Yes. @jondspen. I would like an explanation as to how you went to, "all" from this? If you have one? Just curious.

Hmmm...let's go back to the first two sentences in her comment, I capitalized the key words so you can easily find them. Of course I don't expect anyone to see it. Misandry isn't considered wrong or sexist in today's society, even against boys that have been sexually assaulted. They still get lumped in as a problem since they are nothing more than future deviants.

"As long as this level of assault continues to happen it emboldens BOY'S to believe they have a right because, "EVERYBODY'S doing it" I wonder where this sickness starts or is it just that so many boys are VICTIMS themselves so they feel it's OK to do it TO OTHERS?"

@jondspen In general boys receive messages from society, not all boys will act on those messages of course.

@Ktcyan It's my opinion that if the story would have been about girls on a sports team or sorority taking hazing too far into sexual assault on 9 other girls, the conversation and tones would be completely different. We live in a zeitgeist that belittles boys and men as a group instead of individuals that happen to be males. I don't doubt you personally abhor violence. I just see too many people unconsciously being less sensitive to males who suffer the same or similar issues, and then want to lump them in with the perpetrators when spouting "rape culture".

@TheAstroChuck First paragraph response - What do you think a boy (or even girl) that has been victimized would think as they read the very first sentence up to the question mark in the original OP remarks.

Second paragraph response - I grew up in this post feminist age, raised two daughters as a single dad, and have seen men shit on in society and the court system b/c of thinking like this. Given females a pass, or extra attention, or special considerations is what's called sexist. I want myself, my daughters, my granddaughters, and maybe one day my great grandson to be based on the "content of their character, not the color of their skin", nor their genitalia, or even lack thereof.

Third response, you might be right, but as a dating site for agnostic/atheist, I see a lot of anti-male post and propaganda on here. Even from you I see what I define the last 40-50 years of feminist programming. I saw the hypocrisy of society helping single mothers, and doing nothing for fathers. I've been a victim of DV, yet treated as the criminal by the police and courts. So you may say I'm being over-reactive, I wrote a response in dissent, but let's imply violence to the person. OK...I say you are lying (you responded, so you obviously so feel a need to be at least partially defensive), and are being blinded due to emotions, sentimentality, and displaced guilt. Or maybe it's not displaced...I don't know.

@TheAstroChuck I don't see a lot of different views being proposed by OP. She starts talking about boys think they have a right and "so many boys are victms themselves so they feel it's ok to do it to others?" It is then finished with a story culminating in "Some guys didn't come back but many did (after being sexually assaulted). These were men in the workforce".

I would agree the OP comment didn't go well with the article. The article was about 9 boys who were victimized. The OP comment was wanting to talk about these boy's, perpetrators and victims, even the one boy who stood up and stopped the attack...as people who will continue the cycle and very few will walk away from it (being they are boys).
