I wonder if anyone thinks there is some kind of conflict if a freethinker thinks a movie about the supernatural is brilliant? "Unforgiven" is my favorite movie of all time, because it's a western without a single white hat. But, right behind it is "Sixth Sense" a story about ghosts caught between realities, trying to finish what they left undone in life before they can move on. Haley Osment just creamed the screen with his role a the little boy who saw dead people, and the writers left the audience guessing all the way to the end. I had to watch the movie twice before I picked up the tiny clues they were leaving along the way. Masterpiece!!!!!

I love both movies. I rank Unforgiven as my top favourite western. Apart from the stellar job of all involved, I especially like all the characters' moral ambiguity.

As for the Sixth Sense, I enjoyed it a lot. It's one of Bruce Willis' first role outside of the action/comedy genre.

To answer your question directly: I don't find my enjoyment of movies to conflict with my belief that there are no ghosts. I can suspend my belief/disbelief when watching a movie, reading a book, listening to music.
