Other than John Lennon's "Imagine," is there another atheist/agnostic song.
The only one I can think of is "Dear God" by XTC.

Let's see, and then there's the Dead Kennedys' "Religious Vomit"....

That was the one I thought of!

You couldn't do much better than Marilyn Manson's "Fight Song": "But I'm not a slave to a god / that doesn't exist / But I'm not a slave to a world / that doesn't give a shit." Plus the song kicks ass.

This song gives me a case of the feels. I think it's more about the human condition of searching for meaning but I think it fits here.

"Freewill" by Rush:

Freewill is an illusion created by our egos to make us think that we are more than we are. Pierre Laplace got it right. But that is a Very cool song!

Also, Roger Waters from Pink Floyd: "God wants escudos God wants pesetas Don't send lira God don't want small potatoes God wants small towns God wants pain God wants clean up rock campaigns God wants widows God wants solution God wants TV God wants contributions."

Love Pink Floyd; my favorite.

I belive Stevie Wonder had a thing to say on the subject. "If you believe in things that you don't understand, then you suffer."

Man in the box by Alice in Chains

There are a couple of Atheist albums out there. “An Atheist Album,” by Shelley Sengal and “Baby Eater,” by Monster on Sunday. Or you could listen to bands like Moterhead, Metallica and Bad Religion.

My favorite is "God Thinks" by Voltaire

Ok. Don't get me going here. I'll just pick the first 3 that come to mind.

In our number 3 spot , we have the original "Everybody Knows" by Leonard Cohen. It's an upbeat little ditty- great for parties. Leonard was a hoot and a holler.

On our number 2 spot, we have Trent Reznor raging on about how "God is Dead" again. Why anyone would think that Johnny Cash covered his songs better than the originals boggles the mind and staggers the imagination. Maybe God really is dead.

And the winner our existentialism angst meltdown contest goes to Robert Smith of the Cure. The man admitted to getting shit-faced and writing whole albums about raw nihilism. The Head on the Door possibly being his greatest tribute to the matter.

There are lots of them by Roy Harper " If ". "The same old rock " " The Game " are just a few that spring to mind. Also check out the start of Randy Newman's " Faust " if you can get past James Taylor as god then you have Randy as the devil singing " We`re a figment of their imagination ". A rare treat

There There by Radiohead. Maybe not an "atheist song" but with the lyrics "just cause you feel it, doesn't mean it's there" I feel confident adding it. It's a great song anyway.

Jethro Tull had a couple, my God and hymn 43 are two that I can think of.

Oh! “God Thinks,” by Voltaire.

One of my favorites. I've seen him in concert twice and would love to see him again.

I’m going to try and catch him in Austin @kiramea

I'm not sure of the title or artist but I have heard a song the contains the lyrics, "I'm not afraid of your god, but I am afraid of what people do in the name of your god..."

It's Holly Near "I Ain't Afraid."

@EricTrommater Thanks - great song.

@Dwight my pleasure.

@Dwight great song! Thanks.

Is anyone else having problems with all YouTube videos playing back at high speed? In the last week, I think it started when watching some of the videos in this thread, they jump in six second increments or so on my Android.

This one is borderline, but definitely has anti religious elements.
