I am a Conservative, Capitalist, Republican. I'm a Vietnam Veteran and after some soul searching, a card carrying member of "The Empire".

Still reading? Good. That indicates an open mind.

I've come to the conclusion that we are all sliding on a scale of conservative - liberal, socialist -capitalist, you name the extremes. We really cannot be easily labeled or pigeon-holed into a ridged definition of values. As a personal example, I consider H.S. Thompson as a role model. I have for decades. Yet, he wrote this:
I still love him and look up to him.

That's true.

I know I don't fall into any one given category, which is why I'm registered Independent. George Washington once advised against siding with political parties, as some day that would cause a rift in our country that divides everyone... he was ahead of his time on that one I think. As politics goes, I am a free market capitalist (anti socialist)/believe in the US Constitution/believe in fiscal responsibility/small government/privacy/free speech rights/gun rights/and due process just to name a few, which is why the word conservative is an adequate word to describe my political stance minus the need to associate with a political party. Good post Mr Bullets, truth be told here.

I have a like of that. When working on my first college degree I read Dr. Dennis Meadows book The Limits of Growth. My degrees are in the science area and so I also understand the exponential function and like the talks that were given by the late physicist Dr. Al Bartlett. I also like that Chris Martenson has talked about some of those same things. So, infinite growth on a finite planet is not possible.

He is right there. Pity that more people don't read this.

hard to disagree with that.

It's nice to know we can agree upon something. That's something to build upon.

Yeah, well, we both like cats. That's a better connection.
