What are some of your favorite atheist/agnostic songs and song lyrics? I love the theme song for the Atheist Experience podcast and Imagine. Wondering what else is out there.

All of Shelley Segal An Atheist Album

ALL THIS TIME by STING

This song is about a young boy who wants to bury his father at sea over the objections of two priests. It's a satire of rituals - the priests think the man should be buried according to their practices.

Lyrics:
Father, if Jesus exists then how come he never lives here?

Blessed are the poor, for they shall inherit the earth.
Better to be poor than a fat man in the eye of the needle.
As these words were spoken I swear I hear the old man laughing.
What good is a used up world and how could it be worth having?

What God Wants, Part 1 by Roger Waters. In fact, everything he writes is about the Human Condition: Us and Them, Every Stranger’s Eyes, etc.

I have been doing graphic arts and editorial cartoons since elementary school. The 7 January 2015 attack on the Paris office of Charlie Hebdo hit way too close to home. I felt I needed to say something about the kind of insanity behind the violence.

The result?

Blasphemous rumors by depeche mode, and almost everything by All That Remains, - this is a call to all non believers, this is a call to stand up and fight.

Something from the Dead Kennedys In God We Trust Inc EP. Religious Vomit or Moral Majority

I guess I'll be the sellout and suggest Modest Mouse. The album I'll recommend doesn't have the song everyone thinks of when they think atheist national anthem (Float On), but I think it's a far better album: The Moon & Antarctica. It has some impressive atheist thought.

The Ocean Breathes Salty us the first one that comes to my mind

@amdam87 That one was also very popular, but also (in my opinion) not as good as the album I suggested.

I have a few:
Motorhead: (Don't Need) Religion

Woods of Ypres: Death is Not an Exit

Hardcore Superstar: We Don't Celebrate Sundays

I enjoy the tiny trebuchet on the floor in the picture.

Here's one I just made up on the spot, sung to the tune of "Amazing Grace":

Amazing disgrace!
God's just a myth,
but some people think he's real.
Religions entice you to believe their con,
and then your tithes they steal.

Our music director sings "Imagine" all the time at my New Thought Church. We consider it anti-religious not anti-god. I've been trying to figure out how to sing "Always look on the bright side of life" from Monty Python's Life of Brian in church. I'm pretty sure Eric Idol stuck the word shit in the lyrics to prevent this sort of thing, however. Grrrrr.

Kreator -Enemy of God

They have lots of Athiest songs.

If they are Athiest shouldn't it be called Enemy of Nothing?

@Seminarian That really doesn't really make any sense. Read the lyrics.

I'm not one much lyrics, I'm more about the music.
I don't think Believer, or non-believer has anything to do with it.
Remember that a great deal of opera's, Symphonies, And other classical music was made from composers that were influenced by god.
Art, and Architecture follow into that catagory as well.
