I began becoming an atheist when I was quite young. I told no one about it was not coached, coerced, or asked to become an atheist. It was something I came to realize about the Christian belief system I was brought up under.
It did not make sense.

Yep, I came to my conclusions long ago as well, long ago after questioning the nuns in catechism about stories that didn't make sense and was labeled a "doubting thomas" which I didn't realize was an option! So, my parents knew I was an atheist by about 2nd or 3rd grade.

My mom continued to call me skeptical as a child and she was right. Still am about anything that doesn't make sense to me. I do my research and if I can't come to any conclusions, it's okay for me to say "I don't know" but I won't believe anything simply because someone says so.

I'm happy to say I'm atheist - and used to get the comments noted in your meme often, but rarely anymore. I'm a good person, with a good reputation and am in good company with fellow atheists who are also good caring people. 🙂
