Protect your black cats. Halloween is here. Two of my daughter's cats have been found dead. Both black. Onyx was found beside the garage three weeks ago and Richards's found dead in front of our front door tonight. We are so sad. This happened many years ago when we had our first black cat but never thought our neighbors here would do such a thing. The evidence shows differently. Richard never left the yard. He was only six months old. He lived everybody. And everybody lived him. My granddaughter hadn't been toldvyet but I know she will be devastated. I'm so sad to think that one of our neighbors would kill our cats because of some silly superstition.

Isn't it obvious it was done by every white cat in the area, scared your black cats were going to overthrow their system of systemic racism and undermine their white cat privilege? Just another obvious example of racism in America!

On a serious note, I am sorry for your loss. I know loosing a pet can be emotional, and losing two so close together like this must be hard.

Not sure if it has to do with the color of your cats. It could.. people are strange. I had heard of people laying out poisoned food in their yard on purpose as they were tired of strays and neighbors cats in my area. People grow weary of thier yards being messed up by other people’s animals, especially if they don’t have any.
Most places have leash laws, sounds weird but that also applies to cats.
I’m so sorry for your loss, please keep them inside where you can protect and love them.

That's absolutely true and not just black cats all your animals

We have three cats left. 😟 not that I ever intended to have that many but I inherited one and my daughter rescued a cat that had kittens. The two who died were her kittens. We think someone poisoned them. She's taking Richard to the vet to see what was his cause of death. He was such a sweet baby. Why would anyone do that? Or maybe he got into something around the house. We need to know.

@confidentrealm I know the feeling of loss. Some people have that connection with their animals and others just don't get it. I prefer the ones that get it
