This is why I try to eat organic. My late former FIL was a chemical engineer at Monsanto. In the 80s he was rather alarmed at what his employer was doing to chicken and cattle feed.

there seems to be no limit to human stupidity ... because people buy that shit.
living in a shire with mainly eco-aware folks myself, i do not always buy certified organic; but it has to be locally grown at least. tastes better too 🙂

I have a garden and there is a farmer's market two miles away every Saturday morning now will fall. I eat better in summer/fall than the rest of the year.

@HippieChick58, that's the beauty about living in a subtropical climate: enough edible food growing all year round - now towards winter it's brussel sprouts, pumpkin, citrus, papaya, etc.

I have wondered if they could modify genetics so a mother could fill out a check list and get the baby she wants. Gender? Height? Hair color? male-pattern baldness? eye-color? athletic or brainy or both? Number of toes? and so on. Would we be OK with that? or would we outlaw it so it was only available to the already wealthy?
