The repubs will simply double down on their awful behavior. They will think they weren't awful enough, and get worse. 2020 will be epic ugliness from them. Apparently enough of our fellow citizens like it.
As conservative as Kansas is, I was pleasantly surprised by the result. I'm in Missouri, and we weren't as fortunate with McCaskill losing. We are a red state, and it seems to be getting redder.

And Koch toadie Scott Walker lost in Wisconsin, Dems got a majority in the house, Oh, and notorious homophobe Kim Davis lost in KY!
