How about we have a military parade with widows, orphans and amputees. That would honor the troops and not the glory of war. Tanks and missiles, etc., honor Raytheon, Lockheed and the like.

Good luck with that. If you're referring to the one being demanded by the liar-in-chief at the moment, that is intended to glorify him.

Dump the Trump

I'm no political analyst, but I see Trump's parade down Pennsylvania Ave. (where it's usually not happened in the past) as an indicator of serious devolution into a state of government similar to what characterized pre-WW2 global politics. Hopefully it's just sabre-rattling.

Quote: "It has long been considered conventional wisdom that the US does not need to boast of its military strength because it already is recognised as the leader of the Nato alliance" Maybe the big Dorito is feeling inadequate?

We could take the money for the parade and help veterans and their families. I’m a veteran and I’m all for that, parades are just an expensive nuisance.
Thankfully I believe they told the toddler in charge no parades in D.C. via tweet ????

In the UK we have that type of parade on Remembrance Days. Families, veterans honour those veterans who have gone before.

I don't think so! Those people would be used to highlight the false narrative of further needed war against terrorism, sanctions against democratically sovereign countries leading to CIA supported take overs that don't follow along with the agenda, and support more false programs of philanthropy benefiting the already filthy wealthy foundations destroying communities around the world. Please don't give them anymore ideas on manipulating the population than they already use.

I like this a lot!

We all know is a bad idea... we all know it was coming... Just bring the troops home. I leave it at that.

There should not be a military parade, it is a ridiculous idea.

Best post of the week

That's a damn good idea.
But of course, they don't want to be reminded the real cost of war.
Not only the lives lost of the brave men and women that put their lives on the line to fight bullshit wars. But the families that are wrecked that these fallen soldiers leave behind.
Then there are those soldiers that make it home with either injuries or PTSD that changes their lives forever. Those young men and women who can't readjust to civilian life that fall into depression or those who can't get the scenes of violence out of their minds and they chose to make it come to a tragic end.
Then there are those who make it home and don't have a damn thing waiting for them. They quickly fall on hard times and go down, well beyond rock-bottom as Congress debates on cutting their pay even further...

Yeah, I absolutely agree there should be a parade. And these are the people who it should represent.

As a veteran myself I agree with this 10000%. Thank you sir, thank you.

I'm all for a parade of all the veterans, plus bereaved families of such. Somewhere on facebook I saw this: have a parade of just all homeless veterans and give them all a house at the end ot the march. I'd really be for THAT. Wouldn't cost more than the show trump would like to have.

2

It would make for an interesting terror alert day for trump... tragic possibilities

12

How about we take the money that parade would cost and use it to really benefit those people?

With only homeless vets lining the streets to watch.

No, they are out in front.

@ZebZaman they're walking the streets, marching in the parade.

Agreed..
