We must first get rid of the cruel shadow of a man who currently occupies the White House.

He is absolutely correct.

There is a series on Netflix right now about the drug trade and our involvement in it called Narcos.
Our government helped create a mess. Just like we did in Iraq that spilled over with unintended consequences that we are still involved in.

It does say something about the US doesn’t it?

We need to quit being the problem of the world. Much of the problems these people face is directly contributed to our interference in their countries due to the War on Drugs. Now we don't take responsibility for it.
I totally agree we should help make their home countries more safe so they can live their lives there, that is what they want to for the most part, to stay where their families and heritage is.
I just can't quit thinking about what life must be for them, especially mothers to brave the trip as they do.
We can do so much better.

I think the reason for America's interference has to do with controlling the rest of the world for profit than concerns for anybody's health.

And the support of what became some of the worst despots of the 20th century.

Including the zionist invaders. One of the worst decisions by racists for racists.

@Jacar Absolutely! Have you read the book Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins? Great read all about this subject.

While it is a good statement it’s still politicizing something that needs a solution and not to become a campaign slogan.
We meaning the government of our country both republican and democrat alike have in the past purposely worked to destabilize the government’s of smaller lesser countries so as to keep the from becoming socialist, aligning with Russia, and our personal favorite to be able to freely sale their natural resources and unifying to become a competitor in a free market society.

But to be as honest as I can possibly be I would sincerely let every individual from Central America come here and live. Because in 20 years I should be retired and with a hundred thousand dollars I can move down there buy a town and live like a king. Glass half full ?

A really good book on the subject is Confessions of an Economic Hitman.

I totally agree that we just saw the president ruthlessly use the plight of these poor people to try to win an election, so so sick!

@Ktcyan Excellent link. Thanks

So clear, true.
No we cannot take care of everybody. But who are we to ignore another person's pain & suffering when we'd ask & hope for help if our situations were reversed. As always it seems so simple - why wouldn't I treat someone how I want to be treated? We're all in this together, any color, any creed, any difference so let's work together. It's some regressive, DNA fuck up from the ancient years that compels the horrors we perpetrate on our sisters & brothers. Just SHARE a little please. (Rant end)

Right on point. And they want so badly to claim we are a Christian nation, such BS. They don't think much of their Christ apparently.

Maybe we should let these people into our country.

Migration is being encouraged by the regressive leftists, globalists and NWO promoters. The desperately poor of the world need to be helped WHERE THEY LIVE.

I agree we need to help them instead of helping destroy their countries and pillage their resources.

All of this makes me very sad.

me too.

The problem is America feels it cannot take on all the world's problems anymore.

Really? The richest country in the world . That's right the billionaires want to keep it all.

Then it needs to quit creating these situations.

We could fix a lot of our own problems, and half of the worlds if we didn't have a gluttonous military.

@CommonHuman I think the argument on the other side is that you don't get the chance to do it if you have a weak military. How strong is strong enough, I wonder.

@brentan We could cut ours in half and still outclass the world.
