When I was in Viet Nam there were many refuges fleeing from unsafe areas. The Gov't advertised they were going to build a refuge village. They assembled rows and rows of storage sheds like you might have in your back yard to store your gardening stuff.....one shed per family.

I’ve heard about that and if we’d just taken Hi Chi Minh seriously and applied the right amount of political pressure to push the French out of indo China then he would’ve never have felt compelled to join the communist ranks and we’d most likely wouldn’t have sent one soldier there.

But not only haven’t we learned from that lesson but we’ve taken the place of the in other parts of the world.

The Viet Nam war was a total waste. We lost more than 50,000 men and many many maimed and wounded and the country went communist anyway. @Alshaytan
