The key word is treason. The President can be impeached for other high crimes or misdemeanors that are treasonable, just felonies. In which case Pense would remain next in line, unless he is impeached as well.

It would appear that Trump is as divisive to the American people as Brexit is the the UK.

What happened to politics that the aim appears to be divide the population rather than work in everyone's best interests?

If Trump,is impeached, you will have half the population screaming conspiracy and the other half rejoicing. The division will grow not reduce - best to vote him out democratically at your next elections if you can.

We are too late with brexit, out politicians screwed up big time and whatever happens we have two distinct warring factions.

@TheAstroChuck Maybe a little exaggeration on my part.

The same here with brexit - just over a third voted leave, just less voted stay and the rest didn't vote. There was also a significant number of UK citizens who weren't allowed to vote as they lived abroad or in UK territories such as Gibraltar. The point I was making was that the hardliners of both camps are becoming increasingly vocal and becoming personal differences and not just political and appearing more like warring tribes than citizens of country with shared values.

Fake news! Read the real Article II, Section 4: "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Sounds the same -I'm confused folks.

@Veteran229 no need to attack. I read Scopes too. They are very close.

@sassygirl3869 Look below at the message of MsAl. Click on the snopes.com link, and it will take you to a thorough explanation. 🙂

@BestWithoutGods thanks but I did -not much difference between the two

@sassygirl3869 There is a huge difference. The Fake Article II, Section 4 given above says that if the President is impeached, everyone associated with him shall be removed. That is NOT what the Real Article II, Section 4 says. In reality, it says that the president, vice president, and any civil officer of the US can be impeached and removed from office. But each must be tried separately and individually. The entire administration is not thrown out just because the president is impeached and removed from office. Huge difference.

@BestWithoutGods thank you for stipulating.

@BestWithoutGods You explained it very well in this last post. Given how Article II is written I can see how someone who doesn't read it carefully would jump to the conclusion depicted in the meme. Too bad the person who originally published that meme wasn't a careful reader.

@sassygirl3869 I hope my brief explanation clarified the issue for you. If not, read the Snopes article in full: [snopes.com]

@Veteran229 Been here before with this approach. Would be nice to just explain the interpretation and not attack. Please read Dale Carnigie.

@Veteran229, @BestWithoutGods Thank you for a non attack explanation.

Not true. Wish it was though.
