When I looked at who viewed me, it said "Hovered*". What does that mean?

They viewed you, but didn't post anything

It means they're from the alternate universe where hover cars are common.

"Hovered" is when someone puts their cursor on your name, and the little pop-up window appears with very basic details. I just hovered.

If you were British "hoovered" is when they come around and do your vacuum cleaning!

I'm on a PC so when I hover my mouse over your picture, it brings up a small window that has your picture, age, short bio, what you identify as, and where you're from. That logs me in your visitor count as "Hovered" since I didn't actually go to your profile page.

However if I click your name then it takes me to your profile page, so that would log me as "Visited" your profile page.

I get hovered like a landing pad and it gets annoying sometimes

I get this often too, so I'm glad you posted thew question. Now we ave a few answers.

I wouldn't place too much creed on "hoovered" I disabled that function as I often (not on purpose) hoovered over people when trying to navigate (with a mouse) this site.

I like to think of it more in the sense of Havering, as in when the Proclaimers in their song "I'm gonna be (500 miles)" sang/chanted these immortal lyrics: "And if I haver, hey, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you". I have absolutely NO idea what what that means, but I like to think that's what it is.

I have been wondering that myself. Maybe admin. will make a post about it and let everyone know.

I assume it means people who were immediately put off by something in my profile. I only use the app on my phone so hovering is not an option.

Seriously though; when you mouse over someone's ID for a second without clicking a brief summation of the personal details appears in a small box on screen.

Maybe they have future intentions

Me too, it's like they looked over you shoulder and moved on?
Creepy.

I don't attach much importance to hovering since anyone using a mouse will hover inadvertently. I hovered on one just now while typing this out when I moved my mouse over in order to type LOL

I think it's a timing mechanism. I hovered over your account, but I was distracted by my cat. I wouldn't be concerned.

You can switch the hover off in terms of you being seen to hover over other people but I don't think you can do much about people hovering you. All it means is your (or there) cursor passed over your name icon, it's no biggy 🙂

The eagle hover around the dove

Hovering is looking over someone's profile from any page. It's different from going to the full profile.

You might do it to find out someone's age group or correct gender pronouns.

Or a little more about them.

Also my cats do this when I get up and leave the mouse behind - so yes - sometimes it's pretty unintentional. And people do it unintentionally with mouse fidgets while reading all of the time too.
