I prefer closed or none. With my last relationship, I considered it closed, while he considered it open. It was not a smooth ride.

I would have felt more secure (and so would he have, I feel) with a mutually closed relationship while it lasted. Would rather have had a short more fulfilling relationship, rather than the long drama filled time we had waiting for the good times to begin.

My next relationship, if there is one, will be exclusive. Doubt there will be one. Last one made me afraid to try romance again. Safer to be on my own.

Good points...

At this point in my life, once things get physical, I prefer one to one.

One can be plenty complicated enough !

Sure...group sex can be a problem.

An "open" relationship is not a relationship, it is just casual people having sex occasionally.

This is what some people prefer....no strings.

@nicknotes Do you really believe that? In my book if someone wants that they are not interested in having a future. It’s just a “convenience “ for them, ie if there is nobody else at the moment, you will do. No thank you. Great way in having your heart broken.

With my posts I try not to give my personal preference but just "report" the opinions of others. @Jolanta

@nicknotes Why are you shy, or don’t you have an opinion?

I don't want to tilt the playing field when I post relationship questions. @Jolanta

@maturin1919 What is?

@maturin1919 I am sure it works for most men, however most women it doesn't.

For the duration of the relationship, I prefer it to be closed. I'm of the belief that relationships last for as long as they are meant to, whether that be an hour or two fling or a lifetime committment. When one person walks out the door or steps out, it is an indication that the relationship is over, and the choice to end it was theirs.

Good attitude...some just can't let go when the partner wants to call it quits. It never works.

A closed relationship. If I'm not enough for someone, then they need to go find what they're looking for without me. I am no one's second choice. When I love, I give all of me, and I expect the same in return. I'm worth it and so is my love.

I can see what you mean.
