The religious unaffiliated are the fastest growing groups in North America and Europe. Considering how recent the post-scientific age is for humanity can you imagine a time perhaps several centuries from now when this period of global history will be considered a dark ages.....a time when the world was still plagued with religious dogma and violence?

...yah.. and I was kinda hoping to see it… I remember walking through a graveyard in my youth, sickened by the thought that ‘all those of my time would be tainted by the apparent belief in a non existent god’...

With some buddies years afterwards, stoned in a graveyard.. I brought up the same topic. Very interesting, if convoluted conversation 😀 Anyway, yes. And I appreciate the point of how fast things are moving. It’s not like anyone’s going to drag the ancient religions of the most primitive regions into modernity … but exposure to the intellectual freedom afforded those newly aware of a larger reality will surely prevail … if later than sooner ~

Considering the direction and rate we are headed no one will be here to ponder the previous ages. Religion has only done a part in hastening this move but basic human nature has prevented us from being able to see future problems and changing their behavior to avoid the train wrecks.
