Here's a little poem I wrote. I'd love to hear any thoughts or critiques!

~The Bridge:

To hunger for human interaction;
to yearn for personal attraction.
I feel your presence across the burning bridges,
The flames are ablaze with an unrequited love.

To find a way to cross this bridge together;
because sweetheart we can't do this alone.
Douse the flames in my heart,
sweetie you're a work of art.

We can put out this fire preventing our path together,
the bridge will maintain hold and we'll get closer.
Walk with me on the path of the downtrodden;
this burning bridge can't keep us apart any longer.

I'll look in your sweet eyes, and we'll find that we're closer than we ever have been before. I'll hold your hands and gaze into those galaxies in your eyes, baby, I'm right here.
As the tension on the bridge started to wane,
we clutched each other in each other's arms.

"How will we stay together when the bridge falls into the abyss?" She said.

"We'll close our eyes forever, and be together through the end. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. Restart the song and travel on and we'll be there through and through."

They held each other for the last time and the first time,
they fell into the abyss with the bridge they had so carefully crossed.

Then he woke up by her side, and kissed her gently on the cheek, never before realizing how lucky he truly was.~
