What a shit year it's turning out to be already. On Sunday (so technically last year) my very dearest friend, who I adore more than I could ever describe, found her mother dead. Yesterday, another close friend's father died. Today, I found out that another friend attempted suicide a few days ago.

Can't wait for 2020.

Jnei?. Yes, things are looking bad, but keep your head up. Good things will happen. Great things! Maybe a few more shitty things will happen, remember, you're not alone.

I'm so sorry. 2019 just started and I sincerely hope it gets better for you.

I'm sorry. It's hard when these things happen, whether one at a time or all at once. It reinforces how important it is to let people know we love them, while we can.

This happens as we get older. I am sorry to hear about all of this but it gets worse as you get older. I get word of someone's parents, brother, sister, spouse dying almost weekly or monthly at this point in life. It sucks!

Sorry for all of this happening, hope that it gets better for you!

I'm sorry to hear that. Good luck. I'm sure that there are a lot of people here you could reach out to if you would like.

I hope things get better. You have my deepest condolences. That is truly a shitty way to start the new year. Hugs

I'm sorry Jnei if you need to talk- holler please? I'll be around tonight for sure.

That is a lot of friends with a lot of sadness going on. I can't imagine all that at once.

Though I've watched my older sister go through funeral after funeral sometimes?
I have just two friends I see who still have parents around and it's going to be hard when they go.

Hang in there my friend. You know where I am. Love you much. ❤
Do what you can. I always baked. 😉

Really sorry.
I'm here for you if you need.

Death isnae any fun, so I'll try to give you a little uplift on the subject.
I'm off down to England/London for a funeral of the last major old man of the family. And we plan to have a hoot of a time. He has put money behind the bar of his local pub for his family and friends to enjoy. We will tell tales and celebrate to fellow. No black unless it's sexy - he got that from me. So in your terrible sorrow, find the fun, find the good, shed some tears and have a laugh. Three years ago I lost three people between October 11th and Christmas eve, only one from old age. A wife two friends, two close friends and a contemporary cousin. At my wifes wake, we played Cards against humanity - she'd have liked that. Big hug lass, and a kiss for your forehead. Tony

@Sofabeast -- Just a side note: My ancestors from my father's side came to the US via Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, thence to New York to infect them with their vile presence in the late 1600s. I've been to Glasgow and Edinburgh on business a few times in the late 1960s. Had a lovely time and thought I'd retire to Dundee, but life had other plans.

@evidentialist Look up a movie 'Gorky Park' from the 1980s. Dundee played the part of Soviet Moscow, due its dismal appearance! Now even the jute mills are gone. I moved here from southern England (that's what love can do) and don't want to leave.

@Sofabeast -- I'll do that. I have a feeling I've seen it, but just in case.

Living isnt for the feint of heart . I'm sorry.

So sorry. Hugs to you.

3

Oh no...I am very sorry. Hold on, things will improve

Sorry to hear. Always a negative time. Be sure to take time for yourself as well as your friends.

5

That's pretty awful. A miniscule consolation is that this is the statically most likely time to croak - elderly folk hang on until Christmas/the new year, and the holiday season is really tough on those with depression.
Hopefully it's just an initial blip.

Big big hugs.

Life truly sucks sometimes. It is good that you have this site and the great people here to share your feelings about these significant losses in your life. No one has all the answers to help with your pain, but please know many here care. I lost my husband in June of last year. If you need to vent or just want to chat send me a private message.

Sorry to hear it.

Oh gosh, that's horrible. Really horrible. All at once too.
The attempted suicide will weigh heavily on everyone's mind.
*Hugs
