I'm not employed in that field (due to my belief that computers - and anything else involving electricity - work by magic), but I can only imagine. I have a close male friend who is a senior software engineer - he's a very, very intelligent guy, and in the past has worked for organisations such as Microsoft, the British military and NASA. He currently works for a company that also employs several seriously shit-hot mathematicians, one of whom is a woman who he rates as by far the most intelligent person he has ever met - and he's often shocked by the amount of mansplaining and casual misogyny he sees her having to deal with.

They are NOT girls. They are WOMEN. Hear me roar!

I wish my previous SO would have been more into computers than having secret lives. We probably would have still been together. What I'd give to have someone who was similar enough that we ultimately didn't bump heads after the romancing period.
