Forrest Gump is an all time favourite movie of mine ... and with all the stuff that happens, it seems odd to me that "religion" plays an insignificant role in any of the plot (it's been a while since I last saw it, but that's my recollection). Is that an accurate observation? Maybe there were big religious scenes which I've blocked out. I'm not suggesting I want there to be overtly religious aspects woven into the beautiful tapestry. I never read the book, so I don't know what was there.

LOL ... is there any way to edit posts? I realized I put this in the wrong spot (coreect message, wrong audience) ... Can things be re-worded or deleted on these pages?

I shared this post on the movie thread as well, and was reminded of the monster storm which threatened sinking the boat and the challenge to God. Ya ... more in line with my perspective than the noticeably absent "preachy" religious overtones which could easily be part of the narrative. for which I'm grateful.
