No there is no supreme leader of this cult

2

yes. Like the girl scouts are a cult.

Them & their addictive cookies!

I once joined a Firefly fan club, but never made it to any meetings... I suppose that may have been a cult...

I hear those Game of Thrones and Walking Dead groups are pretty rugged, though.

My ex drove us a couple of 100 miles to see the firefly film (which we had all already seen!)

@Amisja I have bought the Firefly series on DVD and Blue Ray, Serenity on DVD, DVD Special Edition, Blue Ray, and UMD (which plays only on the PlayStation Portable handheld console), the Serenity soundtrack CD, and the Firefly soundtrack CD twice (the first copy wore out).

Pretty cultish behavior if you ask me.

@Paul4747 My ex was desperate to be part of a cult. He dumped me and married a crazy Christian..all his dreams come true

@Amisja Definitely his loss.

1

No of course it’s not a cult. I believe everything they tell me and I lost my mind a few years ago in a dollar dash at the supermarket so I can’t be brainwashed!

2

No Cults are always controlling and demeaning . If anything atheists are the most uncontrolled people on the planet.

As was mentioned, & I've heard it before, like herding cats...

3

Athiests as a cult! What a silly idea! Unless, of course we make Jayney our leader and godess. But wait! If she's our Goddess than we can't be atheists!

Ok what I am proposing is this.

  1. We'll buy a ranch somewhere reasonably isolated. I am a fair and magnaminous supreme leader, I have £30 to throw in the pot. Now I suggest a small contribution of all your worldly goods should be adequate.
  2. We'll all work the land (well obviously not me) and sing songs of salvation.
  3. We'll get the kids to work from...well I say about 8 years. I thinks thats enough for all that book learning.
  4. We'll live in complete peace and freedom, and disputes will of course be arbtritated by your supreme leader (me)
  5. We'll sell any extra food or items we make to tourists. Any profit will go into the community's bank account (obviously in my name).
  6. We'll have annual celebrations on my birthday and also the anniversary of my coronation and one other day of my choosing. These will be our only days off (well yours) as we don't believe in sabbaths.
    Ok pm me and I'll send details of the cult account details.
    And remember 'Oh hail Jayney' 😉

Well, I'll go along with the "Oh, hell no, Jayney" bit!!! LOL!

@Kattywampus69 hahaha

@Kattywampus69, @phxbillcee hahaha

I might be in a cult... ? Except the worship.. But we do celebrate birthdays? AND pool resources? Damn!

I’m coming, what’s the address. I’ve got £23.57 to contribute. Can’t wait??

Sounds like the kind of thing the religious do all the time!

I liked the definition run down (my synopses... I may have missed some things)

  1. leader or leadership to be obeyed.
  2. requirement to conform to tenents through threats and punishment.
  3. Isolation from everyone not of the group.

This is good information to have - period.

Read above
Love Jayne (your supreme leader) xxx

Sounds like many workplaces!

@Geoffrey51 very true!

it is a ridiculous question, and could only be asked seriously by someone who did not know what a cult was and also did not know what an atheist was.

Let me be your charismatic supreme leader, send me all your money 😉

Don't listen to her, she is secretly a Lancastrian, she will make you wear clogs and flat caps then force you to eat black pudding until your mind gives in!!!

@Fernapple Precisely!

@Dave75 Hmmmm yes Goddess Jayne does have a ring to it.

I am immune to clog wearing tactics...there would be no way one could ever convince me to wear them, especially the ones with holes in them...Crocs...no way...

I'm looking for a cult leader who will take advantage of me in non-financial ways, do you have any leads there?

@Paul4747 Oh we can do that...😉

@Paul4747, @thinktwice These are the clogs, common with the mill workers round here

@Amisja Command me O my lady 😉

@Amisja oh dear...I am afraid I would be one of the dissidents...ha ha ha ha

@Paul4747 yep

I do hope that this is not too optimistic but it seems to ring true at this time, although in looking just at the ACA he is taking a very small sample.

5

Cults believe in something. Are we going to have meetings and talk about nothing?

Also, Cults have one charismatic leader.

@jlynn37 ME!!!!!

That would mean becoming politicians!

That'd be called going to the tavern

3

Ah, well, um, NO

7

I don't know enough people with things in common to form a book club in my area let alone a cult... lol

Hahaha

@Amisja Did you find a pattern?

@thinktwice I have made it up from three different ones.
