I have been on the dating scene on and off for 14 years this year. The key is to do everything that you want to do and not worry about finding someone to do it with! Meetup.com is a great resource to find like-minded people to do things with. It's a Numbers game - and hopefully I'll live long enough to get lucky!

I don't know if finding someone who has similar beliefs is the best approach to a relationship. If that is your criteria, you're often disappointed when you discover differences in their beliefs. While a certain amount of shared interest is good, I would focus more on handling differences of opinion and finding someone else who can handle differences in opinion rather than seeking someone who agrees with your beliefs. It makes for a more solid relationship.

it works that way here too. this is different from other dating sites in that it gives everyone a chance to get to know one another here, instead of flinging people into restaurants and bed. the best way, i think, to use this site is to look at all the categories and see what people are saying, and respond when you have something to say. you'll find out where people's heads and hearts are. post on a topic other than your search for a mate (that's covered already by your profile bio and saying you're open to meeting whomever it is you are open to meeting) and let people respond to that, likewise. it's a lot better than just using this like a normal dating site.
